    Seeking Fermenter equipment advice.

So… for the money you’re looking at spending… you could probably get a used slim quarter sanke keg(7.75 gal), a tri-clamp adaptor to ball lock fittings, few used ball lock corny kegs and a used refrigerator/chest freezer. This will accomplish everything fancy new stuff will, and more! But to...

Purging keg with CO2 from fermentation: liquid or gas post?

Edited: I wrote a descriptive post, because I thought there were only a couple of replies. Then when I sent it- I saw a bunch of replies that made the same points as me. Here’s the method I’ve arrived at, fwiw. I use a floating dip tube with screen filter in my fermenting kegs. Step 1: I...

    Bottling: Purging Headspace/Bottles/Bucket

Consider adding 0.3g of potassium metabisulphate with your priming sugar in the bottling bucket to reduce oxidation. Bülosophy has done some exbeeriments with it and kegging. I figure it couldn’t hurt for bottle conditioning either. But I only bottle very strong beers anymore, not the style...

    Odd Sanke tri-clamp size?

Thank you! This is what I was hoping to confirm. Also got a message from my LHS with a measurement of the adaptor. Looks like I can make it happen. Appreciate all the replies.

    Odd Sanke tri-clamp size?

I appreciate the info, thank you. Yes, I know it not designed as tri-clover. Just trying to repurpose it. My plan B is to drill ports though the bung for airlock, racking cane and thermowell. I won't be able to do pressure fermentation or even closed transfer though... but it is what it is.

    Odd Sanke tri-clamp size?

I have recently acquired a 1/4 bbl (30L/7.75g) stubby keg. It looks to have had wine in it... no spear just a threaded port. Came with a red silicone barrel bung. I want to use it as a fermenter by converting it to ball-lock corny keg fittings. I've seen this using a cap and tri-clover adaptor...

Sharing Nostalgia with the Beginners: What Was The First Beer Your Brewed?

English brown ale from an extract kit. Nothing special, I was 16 and I got a speeding ticket on the way home from the home brew shop with the ingredients and the deluxe brew kit in my passenger seat. Terrifying.

    Hello world.

Haha. Yeah, I moved a few kegs around and one of the 1/4” swivel nuts was apparently not torqued down enough and came loose. It was 115F here in Sacramento, my keezer was set to 32F and I hd been enjoying an icy pint of cream ale at the end of the work day. I was sorely disappointed when there...

    Hello world.

Yes. I did the extract, so far so good. Had a couple samples and it is on track to be a very authentic tasting clone!

    Hello world.

Hi, I just started brewing again after a 20 year hiatus. Found some great Craigslist kits for such little cash I had to buy them. So I’m a noob at all grain and kegging, but so far pleased with my results. (Except for getting a gas side fitting leak and losing all 20lbs of co2) Current...
