Bitter tasting wine from Welches grape juice

Would that taste weird? I am usually not wanna use. I was just given some of it, but I am much more excited about my orange spice wine and apple cranberry wine I have going. But I figured I would never drink this otherwise, so I might as well turn it into wine. Do you think adding Splenda would...

Bitter tasting wine from Welches grape juice

I carbonated it by adding 2 tablespoons of sugar and a pinch of used to the bottle after it was finished and then tightly capping it. I waited for a week and the bottle got a bit firmer, but it never carbonated.I know you are supposed to age it, but I want to drink it now. Is there anything else...

Bitter tasting wine from Welches grape juice

I tried to carbonate it by adding a tiny pinch of yeast and 2 tablespoons of sugar to the bottle and then putting the cap on the bottle and completely ceiling it tight. The bottle did get firmer, but I waited for over a week, and it did not carbonate. Waiting for it to age might be fine for some...

    Sediment in bottled

If you If you have already bottled, I would suggest that you leave it in the bottles and just decant it later. You do not want to pour the bottles into a bucket and then bottle it again because that will introduce oxygen into the wine.

Bitter tasting wine from Welches grape juice

I had my first batch of Welches Concord w wine and got pretty drunk off of a cup of it. The problem is that it has a bitter aftertaste. It is not sour. It tastes perfect except it has a shark, bitter finish like arugula, kale, or something like that. I still have more of it left, and I want to...

    Country wine food pairings

I have but it won't do anything like that because it will be in the fridge. I understand that sulfides smell gross and I don't want to deal with something that smells gross and have to buy something else. Plus, I think it is basically all fermented anyways. I made the alcohol content go as high...

    Country wine food pairings

I am making a sparkling Concorde wine from Welches grape juice. It is in the carbonating stage right now, and it is pretty dry. I have it in a plastic soda bottle, so I can make it sweet if I want without worrying about the build up pressure. It is high alcohol, so I decided not to add sulfides...

Brewer's Friend Giveaway! Big Thanks to HBT!

Thank you. I am interested in entering the drawing. I would also be interested in beta testing for screen reader accessibility. I am interested in the tilt because I do not know of any other accessible hydrometers on the market.

    Yeast Descriptions

I was wondering if some of you could give me descriptions of what the different yeasts are like for winemaking? I was reading an article about it on Wine Makers Mag, but the descriptions were very technical. I cannot afford to buy them all. Yes, I know they are cheap individually, but if I...

Cheap and easy way to both clean and sanitize plastic wine making equipment

I care a lot about saving money, and I can't afford for home brewing to be as expensive as wine in the store. On the other hand, time is money, and I don't want to say five cents on my sanitizer, only to spend hours and effort having to go through the process of using it. I wish I could use...

    Wine Finishing

I am doing my first batch of Welches. It seems to be going well and it still has a little while to go. I was just wondering once it is done and I want to finish it, how should I go about it? I know that other people use siphoning equipment, but I don't have a lot of space in my apartment, long...

Recipe for pumpkin wine that uses purée, not flesh

I am doing my first batch of Welches right now and it seems to be going very well. I mainly wanted to get into this to save money and have more unique flavors, and now the pumpkin season is coming, I was interested and pumpkin wine, but the only recipes I can find involve chopping and grading...

    Gingerbread wine

I am doing my first batch of Welches wine since I am sick of paying expensive prices for alcohol, and it seems to be going great. However, since the holidays are coming up, I wanted to start some other batches. The batch and this discussion pertains to ginger bread wine. I can't figure out how...
