    Cool fermented lager with......?

Thank you. I've heard about Diamond and 34/70. Looking into CS now, which I haven't.

    Cool fermented lager with......?

The last two Faketoberfests I attempted fermented with Lutra yeast. Encouraged by the wort in my last ale, that I was able to get chilled to ~60, this year I'm going to use a real lager yeast. Since I am unlikely to reach true lager temps w my swamp cooler, what anyone recommend?

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Only drink while listening to Kansas.

    What are you drinking now?

Since the Azacca oil was a success, mediocre fizzy yellow beer w Amarillo oil. It's been a little pricey, but not a bad way to get a sense of hop flavors / aromas. And it helps the mediocre fizzy yellow beer a lot.

    What are you drinking now?

Chores done. Time for a Big Oyster Atlantico. Happy Father's Day to all the other dads out there in HBTland.

    What are you drinking now?

Fizzy yellow beer augmented w Azacca oil. A couple drops more have taken it to cold IPA land and made it less aggressively mediocre.

What I did for beer today

Added 2 drops of Bert's Beer Baster Azacca hop oil to a mediocre fizzy yellow homebrew as an experiment. Aroma much improved; flavor not so much.

For Sale Ton of gear ready to brew, $1000 lot - Brewzilla, fermenters etc

Will do. You could still sell the other hydrometer with the lot at the same price and it would still be a phenomenal bargain.

For Sale Ton of gear ready to brew, $1000 lot - Brewzilla, fermenters etc

I'm in Galloway. Is there any way you'd part with just one of the hydrometers?

What I did for beer today

Sent an email to Northern Brewer, complaining that $18.27 shipping for a 1 oz package of Hallertau Tradiition hops was ludicrous. Will they respond or care? Probably not.

What I did for beer today

Bottled a 4 gal Kona Fire Rock clone - sample didn't taste bad; didn't taste much like FRPA though. Another partial success. Cleaned and stowed the gear until August, when I'll try an Oktoberfest minus Lutra for the first time.

    What are you drinking now?

Whale Song blueberry-peach sour, Big Oyster Brewing DE. Not a style I typically favor; this instance is very good.

How many gallons brewed in 2024?

    4 gal Fire Rock Pale Ale clone - 1340.25 + 4 = 1344.25 gal

What I did for beer today

Went to LHBS, picked up grain, hops and yeast for next brew next weekend. Planted some EKG sprouts - Cascade is finally flourishing, hoping for good things from these 2 in a couple of years.

    Kveik for Kölsch?

OK. This thread has intersected with a thread that I had started about Belle Saison - making a biere de garde with it. But what I'm really after is, as Miraculix is saying, a nice beer with the one pack of Belle Saison that I have. His post has established that it might very well be a clean...

Wanted BrewJacket Immersion Pro - used????

I'm interested. Where are you located?

Trying to make non-dry brew / malty biere de garde with Belle Saison

Ok. That sounds like a plan that I'm going to try. Two more questions : 1). the equipment infection concerns that jdauria mentioned - valid? I had heard that sour yeasts infected equipment once used, but wasn't aware that saison yeasts did the same. And 2). by Old World yeasts - continental I'm...

Kviek yeast for lagers...talk to me

I have a question for this thread : I did an Oktoberfest-style with Lutra once. It was decent, no off flavors; it was NOT a true lager, I understood and understand this, going into the future when I try this recipe again. My complaint about the beer wasn't its flavor, but body : very thin. I've...

Trying to make non-dry brew / malty biere de garde with Belle Saison

This may not be possible, and if not, understood, but....I (mistakenly) bought some Belle Saison yeast, that I don't want to waste. I am not a particular fan of Saisons, which makes this mistake perplexing, I understand, but I bought the yeast for its good response to ambient temperatures that...
