I did some shopping around when I wanted to get into kegging. I found that Keg Connection had the best prices. They were very helpful on the phone to answer my questions, & I am very happy with my order.
My goodness no! Never dump a batch unless it's obviously contaminated or tastes like s**t. Even if it tastes "off" give it some time, that usually smooths it out. You'll be fine.

If you like Makers Mark, you might like to try Buffalo Trace. My brother brought me a bottle from TN for my birthday (can't find it here in NY). Also Knob Creek is good.
