    Another KEEZER build.... w/ pics.

I honestly can't recall which stain I used. I have about a million Varathane, Minwax, etc cans laying around from previous projects and used one of them at the time... not sure which though. Before staining, I started with a coat of Varathane Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner to help ensure that...

    Another KEEZER build.... w/ pics.

Nothing special... I've always taken the quickest route... 2 oz bottle of Old Fashion Homebrew Root Beer base, 8 cups sugar, 4 gallons water, and about 25 psi of Co2... done. Ultimately, I think something "thicker" and "creamier" would be better, but I've always gotten rave reviews from...

    Another KEEZER build.... w/ pics.

For all the nay-Sayers that questioned my heat transfer logic.... we'll be hitting the 3 year mark in October. Over that time she hasn't been shut-off for more than an hour for an occasional cleaning, and she's still purring like a kitten. :D

    Another KEEZER build.... w/ pics.

I believe the material I used may have actually been considered "1/4"... but as with most all lumber, it was not true size. It measured much closer to 1/8" thick.

Going on two years now without an issue.... ;)

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

    A Keezer is Born

Very nice.... it almost seems like I've seen one similar around here somewhere.... ;) Great work. :mug:

Yes, construction adhesive as noted in this partial quote of an earlier response... Except not Liquid Nails... because, in my opinion, there are a lot of other, better (or at least equal) products out their for much less cost. I used a PL 200 paneling adhesive.

    Raspberry Apple Cider

Are you kegging it currently, and then moving some to bottles? Otherwise, something here just doesn't sound right....

You don't need their crappy lid anyway.... make your own... :ban:

Still running flawlessly... sure it still hasn't been a true long duration test, but at about a year and a half, she's still purring. So far so good... you can tell that it's being squashed a bit (so my 1/8" gap around the top where it meets the base isn't perfectly even anymore... actually...

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

Just use the 1/4-inchers.... that's what I and most others use. If it's too tight to push the line on, just hold it under hot water for awhile... she'll slide right on...

    Keezer Efficiency Experiment

You mean Keezer? I haven't tested the freezer yet.... The bad part is... this was plugged in last night before I went to bed, and unplugged this morning... the refrigerator might have been opened once... max. I bet if I test it over a longer period of time, it actually get's worse considering...

    Keezer Efficiency Experiment

I use a Ranco set at 35°F with a 4 deg variation. The Keezer is currently in my family room in the basement which sits at around 68°F. For comparison purposes, I put the monitor on my huge, old clunker Magic Chef refrigerator in the kitchen over night. Used 1.45 Kwh in 10hrs, 52...

    Keezer Efficiency Experiment

11hrs, 46min... used .14 khr... or about $0.02. Project that out for a month, and my 7.2 Frigidaire currently costs me about $1.21 a month at my current rate of $0.142/kwh....

No offense, but... no $hit "sherlock"... :D

    Keezer Efficiency Experiment

Obviously there are thousands of variables... but aren't you curious as to how an energy star freezer that draws very little operates after you remove the top, build a collar, and lower the temp setting while increasing the cycling frequency? Sure it's a different story versus the same...

    Keezer Efficiency Experiment

I'm not sure about any of you, but I've been curious as to the cost of operating my Keezer since it's inception. I've heard so many theoretical claims on here that they're more efficient than a freezer because they maintain a lower temp, cycle less, cycle shorter durations, etc. In addition...
