Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

You could also get a wye fitting to avoid needing a funnel (link below). You'd need a 45 degree bend attachment for a second tee, which would add to cost...less if purchased on Aliexpress. https://www.brewershardware.com/1-5-tri-clover-compatible-wye.html

Pull Through (dimpled) TC Ferrules for Soldering Prototype Stuff

Yeah, it will stay flat as long as you're 3" or so from the edge of the lid. You could send Bobby an email to get his thoughts, as he probably has more experience/feedback on putting the fittings in weird places.

Pull Through (dimpled) TC Ferrules for Soldering Prototype Stuff

Well, the tool is intended to distort the lid by dimpling it around the TC weld spud. But other than that you shouldn't have any issues. If you put the fitting very close to the edge, it's possible that it will distort the level nature of the edge/lip. Silver soldering shouldn't use enough...

    Brewfather water needed for batch

Reviving this briefly, to agree with @VikeMan and add my $.02 regarding mash efficiency calculators and conversion efficiency. I'm a little frustrated that none of the popular calculators have conversion efficiency as a variable, and resulting First Wort gravity estimate. With so many people...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Lots of good info here. I'll add my $0.02. It has worked really well for me. The biggest downside is that you can't crank the boil intensity to reduce volume--so you need to dial in your system/recipes. I haven't noticed any heat issues when brewing with a steam condenser in the basement. I...

    Water Profile

Thanks! What was the original suggestion for licorice? I have a pack of the sticks, and will likely use those.

    Water Profile

@MN brewer -- how did the Kalamazoo stout turn out? Can you share the recipe? I finally want to get around to brewing a clone of my favorite stout sometime this year.

Minnesota Electric Brew Kettle (MegaPot 15 gal) and HERMS coil / chiller

I'm selling my HLT and HERMS coil. Changing to RIMS and a 2 vessel system: $180 -- 15 gallon MegaPot, bulkhead and dip tube, plus a second bulkhead and thermometer. This kettle has volume markers, rubberized handles and lid. I punched a hole in the back left quarter of the kettle and have...

Pull Through (dimpled) TC Ferrules for Soldering Prototype Stuff

Like @GaBrewZoo , I'm looking for a 1.5" TC Dimpler tool. I already have the 1/2" NPT pull through tool, so I'd just need the upgrade. Let me know if you have one you're looking to sell...!

Thanks Bobby! I just put my order in. I’ll start drilling in preparation for the installation. If you have some spare 1.5” TC dust caps let me know. They were out of stock.
