Your favorite Kolsch recipe with 34/70 and American hops?

That's what was referring to. My local store doesn't have it. I've requested they get some, but their not very responsive to customers. This is $11 per pack on Amazon. It's cheaper on other websites, but shipping is $10 to $15. One of the downsides to living in interior Alaska.

Your favorite Kolsch recipe with 34/70 and American hops?

Well, I guess I stirred the pot asking a simple question. Please don't take offense to this statement. We're all passionate about our homebrew and I really appreciate all the feedback. Yes, it's true that it's not a true kolsch but I'm not entering this beer into competition, so it doesn't...

Your favorite Kolsch recipe with 34/70 and American hops?

Unfortunately, I'm limited to dry yeast by my local shop. I'll check in tomorrow to see if they have any K97.

Your favorite Kolsch recipe with 34/70 and American hops?

Just picked up a bag of Great Western Superior Pilsen malt and would like to put together a Kolsch brew day this weekend. Right now my recipe is... Pilsen 95% Light Munich 5% Crystal hops 2oz @ 60mins Water is RO with additions to achieve... Ca: 45ppm SO4: 38 ppm Cl: 55 ppm Yeast Saflager...

    Element threads ?

Probably not what you want to hear, but you can buy a new element for what you'd pay in tooling to touch up the threads. 1" NPS threading dies on Amazon are in the $30 to $60 range. Locally, you'll probably pay more, if you can find one. The Camco 02964 element, 5500 watt with stainless base...

    Suggestions for new grill/smoker replacement

Thanks everyone. I'd love to get a ceramic kamado but I have to pull it in and out of the garage all winter. On hard pack snow and ice, that would be difficult. Not impossible with the right cart however. We have a local BGE dealer and the big home improvement stores will occasionally have a...

    Suggestions for new grill/smoker replacement

I currently have an Akorn that needs some replacement parts. Rather than investing more into this grill, I'm considering something new. I'm skeptical of the new temperature controlled grills like the treager and master built gravity charcoal. It gets really cold where I live and I don't think...

    Dry Hopping into Corny?

This.... https://www.amazon.com/Brewing-Hopper-Basket-Stainless-Micron/dp/B0764MRPPM/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=keg+screen&qid=1618942976&sr=8-3 Just kegged a pale ale with 2oz of Cascade. Tied some fine fishing line to the filter. Tied the other end to the bottom of the keg lid, around...

    Help troubleshoot my gas system

Yes. Thank you. I've solved many problems as a water plant operator with just a little oring grease! I lube every oring I find.

    Help troubleshoot my gas system

I ended up buying a new regulator rather than continue to chase issues. Quick question. The new regulator has an oring on the stem that connects to the tank. Do I still need to use a plastic washer when I connect? I'm getting a new tank of gas today and want to make sure it doesn't empty...

    Help troubleshoot my gas system

Gotcha. I'll give it a try tomorrow. I played around with it a little more. I closed the outlet valve of the regulator. Made an adjustment to lower the outlet pressure, then opened the tank valve. The high pressure gauge went up, I closed the tank valve, and the pressure held. I did this a few...

    Help troubleshoot my gas system

I have a gasket between the regulator and tank. When you say output valve, which side? Main tank output or regulator output? The tank has been in use for about a month. I noticed the pressure was lower than I expected. So I shut off the tank valve yesterday. When I got a beer tonight the high...

    Help troubleshoot my gas system

I'm having an issue with my CO2 system lately. Since upgrading to a larger tank I've had to refill it four times in three months. Most of those refills I can explain but now I've come to a situation that I don't understand. The high pressure side of my regulator well go to zero if I shut the...

    Pump impeller replacement

Played around with the impellers more today. Here's the issue. The old pump impeller deformed around the magnet, swelling to the point where it was rubbing. Chucked it in my lathe to just sand it down slightly. Plastic was so thin, a hole opened up with only slight pressure from 300 grit...

Tell me more about keg hopping

Just purchased a stainless mesh hop tube from Amazon for the purpose of keg hopping. Any advice or lessons learned you'd like to share? Is this as good as a hop back or randall?

    Pump impeller replacement

Has anyone successfully replaced the impeller of a MP-15RM pump? Purchased a new impeller from AliExpress, but can't get it to spin when all the pump head screws are finger tight.

    Huell Melon recipe suggestions

I'm asking for suggestions on using up some of my hop inventory, specifically, Huell Melon. Helles? Marzen? Maibock? Bock? Whatcha got?

    New Bayou Classic kettle conversion

Had just enough time on Sunday to get in the first brew on the new kettle. A few issues, but the kettle performed as expected. Clean up was a breeze compared to my old set up. I've been cleaning out my hop inventory, so I threw together Sterling, Summit, and Mandarina for a pale ale...

    New Bayou Classic kettle conversion

I'm just guessing that more and more homebrew equipment manufacturers will utilize triclamp fittings based on market offerings right now. The triclamps are 1.5 inch. I do much of my shopping on AliExpress and Amazon.

    New Bayou Classic kettle conversion

If you've been on this site for any length of time, you may know there's lots of debate on TC fittings on smaller kettles (10 gals or less). My logic for going TC was... 1. They're cool. Yeah, I know. Not a real good reason, but come on. 2. They're super easy to clean. Even with some...
