Thanks. I let some pressure out now and it’s set to 12. Gonna let it sit for a few days and try it. The hoses came with it, I may have to get longer ones if it’s the problem.

1st pour today. Tastes pretty good for my first time. Wife likes it as well and says has a good aftertaste. Having some issues with my pour. Lots of head. Running 6 ft lines at 8psi. Carbed at 30 psi for about 30 hours and then 10 for about 20. Not sure if maybe I over carbonated at 30?

Ya I did not top off. Totally missed that step. I didn’t think I could top off prior to kegging. Will make corrections for the next batch. Thanks for the advice!

    Your First Batch Stories

well today I kegged the beer. FG 1.014. Only ended up with about 3 gallons of beer though. Lost during boil and fermentation. So my next kit I plan to boil 6 gallons instead and hope that compensated for the loss. Beer is gonna be strong OG was 1.072. But it’s for sure drinkable, so...

Took a FG reading today, day 15. 1.014 right on target. Clearing up nicely and flavor seemed good. Gonna take another reading Tuesday. Then cold crash and keg... so far seems like a successful first batch!!

Show us your cider in a photo!!!

First batch of cider. It’s a pineapple cider recipe. Right now it’s been fermenting for 4 days. Got Rhino Farts like crazy lol... gonna try and be patient and let it age after I rack it to a secondary. But I’m gonna need luck and strength to make it lol.

    PAA (Pineapple apple apple)

    PAA (Pineapple apple apple)

curious why S-04 yeast was used for this recipe? Right now I have a batch going following the above directions and got serious “Rhino Farts” going on. Hoping the rack to a secondary helps get rid of any sulfar.

    PAA (Pineapple apple apple)

So trying out this recipe. Went with 1/8 tap of the clover and followed the rest. Let it set for right a 24 hours and my OG was 1.060. So not sure why it wasn’t on target. Just got done pitching S-04 and had to add a blow off. Only because I used to small a carboy. This is only my second...

    Cider Fermentation

using Safle US4. Will do a blow off then thanks! Also will shake and stir really well. Since it’s a dry yeast and cider, I plan on just pitching it and not rehydrating. Any thoughts on which is better?

    Cider Fermentation

So I started my first 5 gallon batch of cider today. I have it sitting for 24 hours with the campden tabs in it. I put it in a 5 gallon carboy. Is it ok to and yeast and ferment in that size or will I end up with blow off like a beer? Should I transfer to a bigger carboy before I add the...

    Your First Batch Stories

So update. I had to leave home the last three days. Looks like most the action has ceased. My temp while the yeast was active was constant at 68 with a towel wrapped around it in my closet. My house temp has stayed the same, but the temp on my carboy is reading close to 64 now. I wrapped...
