    Lower the bag/basket or raise the water?

    brew with a gallon extra and boil it off after. Ive done it in my CBS system and there was no ill effect.

    I've been brewing with a basket (400 microns) for over a year. Will never go back to bags or mash tun.

    quantity of liquid can make a big difference as well. When my flask is more full it holds the bar better than when not.

    I wouldn't even consider lagering and storing cheese in the same place. Unless of course you like sulphur in your cheese.

    To me, this seems like allot of expense for a $100 fermenter. You could probably find a craigslist fridge for cheaper. SS coil and fittings are expensive. I would almost go the route of the SS Brewbucket, would end up costing the same and fit in your fridge. The idea will work though. Kind of...

    As Yooper already pointed out, using a refractometer in already fermented wort will not give you the correct reading. Your 1.035 is actually closer to 1.017

    Neutral is only required if you plan on tapping 120v off of the 240v. The proper wire for a 240v with 120v application is called "3wire" which actually has 4 wires. Two hot wires (black/red), a neutral (white) and a ground (green or bare) Th ground is not counted as a wire because it should...

    with only two wires and ground you have no correct access to 120volts. You need three wire (2 hots/neutral and ground) Neutral and ground are not the same thing. atoughram's diagram would work but I'd be using a contactor instead of a switch. You also need to work in grounding as well.

    Nothing changes. Do the same to the yeast as you would any other time you harvest. I agree that harvesting from the starter is best but you didn't, so here you are
