    Do you Cold Crash? (everyone vote! especially if you don't)

    Used to cold crash every batch. But don't do much anymore, I figure the bottle in the fridge is the equivalent to clod crashing and my beers seem to be just as clear (providing I don't disturb the trub while pouring).

    How long was it in primary? Did you take a hydrometer reading? Probably krausen which is natural by product of active fermentation. If so, you bottled too early.

    FYI, if you can hold out, let it sit in the fermenter another week, the prime/ bottle and give it at least 4 more weeks, then put a couple in the fridge for a few days and enjoy.

    I do both and still use the mr beer. I don't always have the time to devote to an all day brew session. It usually takes an hour or less and I've got some beer brewing, helps keep the pipeline going. I also use the mr beer LBKs for five gallon batches, split the batch between two kegs.

    I wouldn't risk it. I'd just let it ferment as is, give it three weeks in primary, bottle, drink it as is and chalk it up to experience. You will have beer in the end, and honestly at this point it is what it is and ther's not much you can do about it. Why risk ruining a batch. Just my $.02.

    Do you have trub in the bottom of the fermenter? If you do the yeast is working. There's not alwaysc a thick layer of Krausen on top.

    What a mess !!!

    The question is ( assuming you have a wife) how posses off is she? Mine is still pissed about the mess I made on her new kenmore stove. But after that she bought me a turkey fryer, small price to pay for a new toy.
