    Kansas Honey Wheat

I have been playing with getting a good honey wheat beer that had both the honey taste and a real wheat flavoring. After several attempt I have come up with this one that is probably one of the best I have ever tasted. Kansas Honey Wheat Grain: 5 lbs. Pale 2-row Malt 2 lbs. Munich 2...

First cones of the season already!

I have a Cenntenial and a Magnum that both have hops buds like that on them and a golding that has some smaller ones on it as well here in Kansas. I am kind of hoping to get a double batch out of them this year. They are all second year plants.

Is it to early for a lot of buds?

I have 3 different hops plants that are all in their second year. They are growing great but are already all loaded with hops. I know that harvest is usually not till late August to sept. So my question, is it possible that I will get an early harvest??

    DIY Mash Tun

I use a manifold and have no problems at all with channeling and fly sparging. Cost for a manifold made it a lock for me. $5.99 for 4' 1/2" copper pipe and $.90 ea. for the corners and Ts at HD.

    Immersion Chiller - Pump Recommendations

Just started doing this with my last brew. I have a 1/6 HP submersible pump that works great. I just fill a cooler with water from the hose, run the water through till the cooler is empty, refill with 5 gallons of water, 20 lbs ice and recurculated. Total time from boil to 68 degress was less...

Irish Red Ale St Fuad's Irish Red

I brewed this recipe with just one change. When I went to brew I found that I only had 6 # of Vienna Malt America on hand so ended up using that and 5 # of 2 row. It turned out great and I can not wait to brew this with all Vienna. Thanks for the Recipe.:rockin:

    First All Grain, looking good.

Well, Today I took the plung into the all grain reality. I was about out of beer and personally was not real happy with the extracts that I have been making so wanted to try my hand at all grain. I am a bit of a DIYer so went got some CPVC and a cooler to make my Mash tun, then went to the...

    I hate choices, need advise

Ok, after much deliberating on this mater I went to the LHBS and bought some sorbate. I decided to keg anyway (that was the original plan before SWMBO stepped in) and just get a travel CO2 catridge for the LHBS to take along. This will allow me to sweeten it to her hearts desire and still take...

    I hate choices, need advise

OG was 1.056. It is currently pretty clear but can still see some clouding. As for the cartridges, I have thought of that but have the bottles on hand, but still an option. DAMN one more choice.

    I hate choices, need advise

Hey all, this is my first cider and so far all has gone well, It taste great to me but a bit to dry for SWMBO. I started this the weekend before christmas using Nottingham yeast, racked it to secondary middle of January and have let it sit since. For the last 2 weeks it has sat at a reading of...

    First Partial Grain

This is the first beer that I ever home brewed and it was a partial grain stout. Very tasty if I do say so myself :mug: . I have two more brewing now and one on deck. I am addicted completely now.

    Pretty excited...

The beer looks great SK. I have to say this is truely an addiction. I had a buddy that had a Mr. Beer kit and made a batch that I thought was pretty good but I thought " I can do better". My Kegerator build up

Last Thursday I picked this beer cooler up for a steal ($50) :rockin: and new instantly that it would be my future kegerator. I will be ordering the parts soon but started the clean up already and decided that I would share in my great find and build up. This is the inside before cleaning and...

    Henckels Knives

I have seen these on ebay as well for a really decent price but watch the seller. I am a bit of a chef myself and used Henckel knive and loved them but personally found that I like Furi knives a touch better so you may take a look at those as well. Both run about the same price.
