    Two and 1/2 or three gallon batch

    Will it give me too much head space to put a smaller batch in a 5 gallon fermenting bucket? and yes it is 5 gallon and not 6.5.

    Brewing in Hot Climates

    For those of us who live where it is only 10 degrees cooler than Hell, any tips or suggestions? Yes, I do have central heat and air, but I am also a cheap-ass who usually keeps the house about 80+/- in the summer... not optimal fermenting temps.... :cross:

    I used Notty for a batch of basic cider, no spices added. Question is, is it possible to reuse this yeast cake for a beer, and if possible, what is a good candidate. I was thinking a witbier, seems like it might play nicely...

    The 5 gallon water jugs that are returnable/reusable. If properly sanitized, are they ok for a secondary fermenter? First batch of cider is 2 weeks in, and my recipe says to rack to secondary for 2 more weeks....

    Trub Troubles?

    I made my first 5 gallon batch, but the directions that came with the kit were vague in some places. I ended up with the majority of the trub in my fermenting bucket. It has now been 4 days.... should I siphon the beer off into another bucket? It was a kit for American Amber Ale.
