what grain did you use for your smash? I just tried the mosaic smash ipa I brewed two weeks ago. I based it off of one I tried from a local brewery that I really enjoyed. Mosaic with golden promise and I used voss kveik for yeast. pretty happy with how it turned out.
I was really pleased with how mine turned out. I used munich(91%), vienna(5%), and chocolate(4%). I warm fermented with saflager 34/70. If you are looking to use ale yeast because you can't get to lager fermentation temps I would suggest going this route instead!
I just got mine on Monday. Did a couple tests and there was a small leak. Did a submerge test (kept the gauge above water, twisted and turned to make sure all other points were tested), found a couple very tiny leaks that reseating the evabarrier fixed and it has been holding 7.5psi on a 200ml...
That really sounds like your best idea! You get to taste the original recipe but you can still try the variant you want without risking messing up a good portion of the brew! Please be sure to report back with how it turned out!
Easiest way to check for leaks when not attached to vessel is to submerge all connection points (While under pressure) in water and watch for bubbles. Thats how I tested my gas run. first submerged my manifold And confirmed no bubbles from any connections (even the tiniest little bubble forming...
Morally obligated to drink while barbecuing when your smoker has a bottle opener built in. Imperial Double IPA to start, a nice low abv grisette later so I’m not so tanked that i burn dinner. Some smoked thai drumsticks for tonight and a meatloaf for tomorrow’s dinner.
