Lost a tank of gas....leaky top on my corny

Just last month I bought reconditioned kegs from Midwest...one of them leaks from the top. I tried to hit it with like 40 psi to seal, but once at serving pressure, I could sometimes hear a leak. I tried keg lube on the flange rubber, etc. Still leaks. Is it a lost cause? Or can I fix...

    10 psi = 1 pint in 1 second?

thanks guys. does overcarbonating induce significant off-tastes into the beer? otherwise, i could just leave the pressure at nearly 0 psi, and the beer and headspace would eventually equilibrate. more importantly, i could still drink beer :) the taste on both the double ipa and...

    10 psi = 1 pint in 1 second?

I have a new kegging setup....the deluxe 2-tap system from midwest supply (http://www.midwestsupplies.com/products/ProdByID.aspx?ProdID=6858) Until i get the collar and my keezer installed, i'm using cobra taps with 6' of 3/16" line. the temp on the Ranco is dialed in a 37 degrees with a 4...

    Keezer finally done!!

looks nice! how did you attach the collar to the freezer? i'm planning to install a collar on my freezer, but was envisioning fastening it to the lid since it's not safe to drill into the freezer. but removing the seal might be a pain.

Taps on the wall...beer line length

word. sounds like it's either a fan and lines for taps on the wall.....or just a kegerator.

Taps on the wall...beer line length

so i guess my question ihas become this: what is the longest length of line between the fridge and wall that one can run without having to refrigerate the lines?

Taps on the wall...beer line length

Thanks, this makes sense, though it doesn't sound easy! But it will be soooo sweet to have taps on the wall. I have a hard time envisioning such a large hole in the fridge for the flexible tubing. I'll likely end up with a fridge with a freezer on top, so I imagine I'll only be able to...

Taps on the wall...beer line length

I looked but could not find good info to answer my question.... I want to put taps on the wall in my kitchen. Just on the other side of that wall is a closet where I could put a small fridge. (I'd drill holes through the wall to run the lines to the fridge) The beer line length would be...

Half batches: last for months? in a 5-gallon corny?

cool! i was worried that after i poured beers, it would be "open" can become stale a month later.

Half batches: last for months? in a 5-gallon corny?

and the beer will last for months? i've read a few times that kegged beer will only last a month. not true with corny kegs, right?

Half batches: last for months? in a 5-gallon corny?

My brother-in-law and I are splitting batches of brew. I love the 2.5-gallon corny kegs, but they're pretty expensive. so i'm thinking of just buying a few 5-gallon corny kegs...and thus my question: is there anything wrong with filling the keg only half-way up? will the brew still last...

Re-pitched, FG still too high...going to secondary

My first brew....a Brewer's Best English Brown Ale. The OG was good (1.046). But took a while (1.5 hours?) to get the temp down after boil....stirred the wort but not overly so. Didn't hydrate the Nottingham yeast. Fermentation was vigorous, but it took about 30 hours to start. About 10 days...

Fermentation can take 24 to 72 hrs to show visible signs.

i have tons of bubbles now. took about 30 hours. temp in the room varies between 65 and 68.

my first post...this forum is great. if yeast are re-pitched, do you stir the yeast into the wort (just like the first pitch)? or do you just sprinkle the yeast on top of the wort? i'm worried i may have not aerated the wort enough for my yeast, but then again i don't want to induce...
