    Its funny, I've been to the brewery a few times and always try everything they have. I really only like Fiddlehead IPA. Hate 2nd fiddle, mastermind and don't really care for their others. All it takes is one winner.

    Does it have to be stainless? I've been thinking about making one and thought of using plastic. This way, it won't suck of the heat and be light enough not to squash the grain.

    Columbus Hops - Onion like aroma?

    I'm very sensitive to onion in hops (Nugget, El Dorado, etc) and I've never gotten that smell from Columbus.

    Personally, I add them straight through the 4" lid and I actually flush them in a cup with CO2 first. May be unnecessary, but I'll take all the help I can get.

    I got the 10g even though I do a lot of 5g batches. No issue with the coil.

    I wouldn't be concerned. I've left quite a bit of starsan in kegs before with no ill effects. I only used distilled water now, as the minerals in my well water make the solution cloudy. I think it breaks down the surfactant, not 100% sure.
