    First Recipe...Opinions?

Thank you for the help. I'm going to just get all my advice from HBT rather than someone I bump into at my LHBS.

    First Recipe...Opinions?

To be honest, I'm a bit of a noob at this and someone told me it would be a good steeping grain for an IPA. I guess I should rephrase this thread as "Does anyone have any tips on a good IPA recipe?"

Thanks, as you can tell I'm pretty new to this but I just don't feel like doing another kit.

    First Recipe...Opinions?

Hi, I'm pretty new at creating recipes but I've been doing an unholy amount of reading on here and am excited to try a recipe that I have put together. It's an IPA.... The only thing is, I really don't know if it will be any good. It is an extract recipe... WLP 001 1 lb. Crystal 60L .5 lb...

    Will this be a dunkelweizen?

Thanks. As a potential sub for the candi sugar, how much more wheat extract and chocolate malt would be sufficient? For future reference, what hops would you recommend?

    Will this be a dunkelweizen?

I tried to copy BigKahuna's Bananas on the Beach recipe but my LHBS didn't have American Crystal 120 or WYeast 3068. They recommended CaraAroma as a sub for the American Crystal and WLP 300 instead of 3068. So here is my total ingredient list 1 lb CaraAroma .25 lb Special B 6.4 lbs...

    Racking and Dryhopping Questions

Thanks, I'm using pellets so I figured if I racked it I could get rid of some of the sludge and it would make transferring it eventually to the bottling bucket easier.

    Racking and Dryhopping Questions

I searched for this and couldn't find definitive answers for them... I am currently brewing an IPA and am planning on racking it to a secondary container once fermentation finishes. I want to dry-hop the beer and here is my dilemma: I only want to dry-hop for a week or so, but I want to keep it...

    Lager yeast at Ale temps

Thanks. I own a hydrometer...I just wanted to know if I should bother opening it to test it after one week.

    Lager yeast at Ale temps

Sorry but another question...this is my first time brewing and it isn't really clear on how long it should ferment for. How long did you wait?/What told you it was ready?

    Lager yeast at Ale temps

I have that kit as well and am unable to lager it... It said to rack it to a secondary fermenter if possible. Did you do this?
