    How does carbonation effect taste?

    Does carbonation change the taste, or is it just perception? To me, carbonation seems to increase bitterness and reduce sweetness. Is this right, or is there more to it than that?

    Bottling bucket gravity read?

    Has anyone else found that measuring gravity with the hydrometer in the bottling bucket produces a much different reading than taking one with a wine thief?
