    Ugly Betty - Bev-Air DD-22 Restoration

My thoughts exactly. R12 is a great refrigerant. It's too bad they had to discontinue it, but hey, they say the hole in the ozone is getting smaller...hahahahahahahaha

    Ugly Betty - Bev-Air DD-22 Restoration

I don't know how much it costs to run, but I have this, and a newer GE stainless fridge in my garage, and Ugly Betty doesn't seem to kick on any more than the the GE; how much juice she's pulling when she's running is a different story.... I didn't notice any huge spikes in my electric this...

    Ugly Betty - Bev-Air DD-22 Restoration

Thanks! It was a fun build, and like the fact that I was able to a late 60's model kegerator in service quenching thirst in 2014!

    Corny o-ring and cider

I've kegged a 9% cider a couple different times, and one was in the keg for 5 months. I just filled my keg with oxyclean and water and soaked my keg parts and my o-rings in the full keg overnight. I rinsed thoroughly with warm water and let dry. Myself, nor my brew club members, have never got...

21st amendment brewery hell or high watermelon.

152 for 60 min. I edited the original post and added this in; thanks for making me realize I left out this lil tid bit. Also the amount of puréed watermelon was about 3/4 gallon.

    BM23-c price range

You have decent deal there! The only thing is to check that the Co2 tanks are within certification limits. If not, take to local gas vendor, and the should exchange them with no questions asked. Then you have 3 tanks within certification that can be exchanged anywhere you like. Painting it would...

21st amendment brewery hell or high watermelon.

Ok, so I brewed a variant of this recipe, it had a bit more watermelon flavor, but the color was spot on. To be honest, the compliment I kept receiving was that it tasted similar to the 21st Amendment, but the tad bit more watermelon flavor made it better than 21st's. Here's my recipe for 5.5...

Adding raw fruit post fermentation just hasn't worked out too well for me...

I added the seeds, pulp, and all to the blender and pureed away! I then boiled, cooled, and added the "slurry" to the secondary. I didn't have any off tastes at keg time, but we will see how things turn out after the batch is carbed. I am not sure where the off flavors could be coming from. I...

Adding raw fruit post fermentation just hasn't worked out too well for me...

I added seeds and all into mine.....no bite detected, just a sweet watermelon taste. If you added it in the primary though that might be why, or it could be your recipe and yeast. I used 50/50 American white wheat/@ Row and 1056. I always treat my fruit additions like a dry hop in the secondary...

Adding raw fruit post fermentation just hasn't worked out too well for me...

Well, I racked the Watermelon Wheat to the keg this weekend, and it's exactly what I was going for. A good wheat beer up front and a nice watermelon taste at the end. The FG went from 1.009 to 1.008 from the secondary fermentation.

Adding raw fruit post fermentation just hasn't worked out too well for me...

I added a whole watermelon to the secondary because I knew it would take a lot of watermelon to give it the flavor I was looking for. I have always added my fruit additions to the secondary to not mute the flavor of the fruit out. I'm hoping to clone 21st Amendment's "Hell or High Watermelon"...

Adding raw fruit post fermentation just hasn't worked out too well for me...

I made a Watermelon Wheat with 10 lbs grain and only 3/4 oz hops total. I added fresh watermelon to the secondary this past Saturday. I scooped out all of the fruit of a whole watermelon (came out to about 3/4 gallon), pureed it (seeds and all) in the blender, boiled it for 4-5 min, cooled it...

    Supplementing Kegerator with Iced Coil?

You do have a friggin' sweet paint job, and I like the fact that you have access to the inside from the top! It that space to store glasses? Mine is wide open when you open the door, and I love this ill' guy for its small foot print, the fact that it was built to last, and can hold (4) ball...

    Supplementing Kegerator with Iced Coil?

That looks like a nice, old beverage air kegerator! If it is, I've got one, too. She stays out in the garage, and in our hot, humid GA summers she keeps 3 kegs cold with ease. Since you have the tube that cools the tower it'll keep the lines cold and reduce, if not eliminate, the foaming issues...
