    over shot my mash temp

So I'm currently brewing my first BIAB recipe-Cream of Three Crops Ale. My strike temp was 155 with a mash temp of 147 for 90m. Upon adding my grain I didn't stir enough and wait for an accurate temp reading so I turned the burner back on. After a few min when I stirred again I was at 160. I...

12 days in the bottle...no carbonation

So I bottled my Pumpkin Ale on 10/13 and opened one today (10/25) to see how things were coming along. So I pop my top and there is only the slightest sounds of carbonation, pour my beer into the glass and nothing. No head or anything. A few bubbles came up post pour, but I'm assuming that was...

So I am a case through my American Light (Brewers Best Kit - bottled for about 5 weeks) and I am just realizing it tastes slightly off...almost a little sour. Ok so I just read this thread on washing yeast and am planning to do so as soon as I rack my pumpkin ale off. I understand the process fine but am wondering this: is the washed yeast ready to pitch in the future? Or do I need to add some DME to my mason jar of yeast after I decant some water...
