    Harvest Time On The Farm

@grampamark Hey thanks for the info. I kind of figured little straw harvest. I didn't know if they had a way to somehow to pick up the chaff that I was new to me. Is it safe to assume no-till drill planting those crops? We've been real dry right where I live this year. Most of the state is...

Sense of Impending Dread and Doom

The USPS situation is going to get worse, I fear. Some folks want to privatize it which I think is not good for us, the user. There is a reason that UPS and the USPS have some sort of arangement with USPS being the end carrier in some rural locations for smaller packages. (UPS drops off at local...

    Favorite Malt Liquor?

Hahaha , I was always told years ago that's how they made "Bock" beer. They only did that once a year and that's why it was "seasonal". Cheers, Joel B.

    Favorite Malt Liquor?

I've just had SR in cans, 12oz's and 24oz's. I have had many other beers that I'd pass over to get to a SR. Any thing "light or lite" stands out first. I've never had a Belgian style so I can't compare to one but I think that SR does have a clean taste,,,(hehe) maybe not the "best" taste, but...

    Favorite Malt Liquor?

Hey @bracconiere ,, hehe,, took longer than I thought it would for you to show up on this thread. !!! more ppl should have your attitude, You are the reason I voice for brew your own shixx, what you want, how you want, what ever that it is. I really dislike stuffy, self-important ppl. Brew on...

    Favorite Malt Liquor?

Hey, you like what you like, I like what I like, that's what keeps up brewing. I am the opposite of a hop head, (a malt melon? (LOL)). But it's all good. Yeah I can drink a hoppy beer but I'm sure not going to brew one on purpose. It's just beer for shxx sake. Joel B.

    Favorite Malt Liquor?

Yeah, I am going to order a couple of those and see. I'm still thinking they will need something for body, not just sure what yet. Now I leaning towards a pound or so of 80L crystal, maybe carared, thinking that because of color. My memory of Old English 800 had a bit of reddish/gold tint...

    Favorite Malt Liquor?

I've had some of that, not the worst fluid I have ingested. I'll grab a couple 24oz's of Steel Reserve from time to time, it's about the same gut-rot kind of stuff. Good buzz-for-the -buck, drink-it-before-it gets-warm "beer". I'm going to order a couple of these next time I order supplies...

    The "Dear" , "Sincerely" thread

Dear "M"ajor home "B"rewing supplier; Not having UPS as an shipping option will limit our future relationship. Living in FedEx hillbilly hell, waiting for them to decide if they want to deliver in the area today "or not" is not setting well. Knowing a package arrived at distribution center...

Times are what they are but why FedEx, Why??

Yeah, I almost want to understand the logistics thing but I think it would make my head implode. Waiting for a package from More Beer in Pa. Placed it Wednesday,, "shipped" Friday, FedEx got package Monday. It spent 24 hrs in Grove City Ohio. (must be a nice place to over night, it had already...

Any body re-cone / replace the foam surround on a Hi-Fi speaker?

Any of you Hi-Fi folks out there replace the rotted foam on speakers? I was given a pair of Bose 301's but the foam surround on the bass drivers are "gone". Found a place to get kits to fix them but is it worth it? https://www.simplyspeakers.com/bose-speaker-foam-edge-repair-kit-fsk-8.html...

Times are what they are but why FedEx, Why??

A couple of weeks ago I placed two orders within an hour of each other, one from Pa. (morebeer) via FedEX and one from Chicago Il. (non brew related) via UPS. Both were boomerangs. I live it west central Iowa. one went to Lenexa Ks. then north to me, the other to Omaha Ne. then back...

    Remember when...

Frisbee's worked better I thought. A little like if you were panning for "gold". As far as Schlitz, it was dad's favorite for a long time and a "bump" on the side (Old Crow, IIRC). Then switched to Old Milwaukee, I think that was an upgrade.

    Roll Your Own

Yea quitting or at least trying to is tough. I guess I just haven't wanted to enough. I have gone a couple of weeks with out a smoke but still came back to them. I have quit other things that were not good for me when I was younger (wink, wink) but those were easy compared to cigs. Add to it I...

    Roll Your Own

No I think they do, more so if they can get by taxing it in a huge way. The amount of taxes on a pack of smokes is asinine. It's one thing to tax an item or service a certain amount for use in the basic sense but to add tax that almost doubles the cost,, no. I better stop here, I'll just get my...

    Roll Your Own

Yea close to the same here price wise, 15 & 5 for the 100mm's. I have bought from a place in Chicago cheaper but have to buy like 3 bags and 6 box's of tubes to actually be cheaper when shipping is added. I don't like having that much of a supply around, I smoke more when I have plenty of...
