@bruce_the_loon That sounds good. makes me feel better about the computer/OS up-grade. I'll probably upgrade to BS3 after I know ver 2 works OK. Thanks and cheers, :mug: Joel B.

BeerSmith 2.3 on Win 10 question

@day_trippr Tkx for the reply. I'm a little nerverd up about the new machine. I knew that some day it would have to happen as XP's grave is getting deeper by the day. I hope my fears are unfounded. Change comes hard sometimes, Time will tell I guess. I'm trying to learn/read as much as I can...

BeerSmith 2.3 on Win 10 question

Hi all ! I am going to be up grading to a new (to me) laptop with Win 10 Pro.(build # is unknown at this time) It's a 64 bit machine with 8g of ram. My questions are, 1) will my BS2 (ver. 2.3) work on such a computer? 2) any suggestions and/or tricks on the installing BS if it will. I have...

Another stupid BS question, Last Ver that works on Win XP 32 bit?

@IslandLizard I'm not sure what the diff would be either. I'm a pretty basic extract brewer and I just got it more for keeping recipes and I like the brew log and timer. I've played with changing/ adding ingredients and some things with late add extract to see what changes and how. It can do...

Another stupid BS question, Last Ver that works on Win XP 32 bit?

@IslandLizard Thanks, as I said I using 2.3.12. I think it's the last "2" ver. As far as XP I don't have enough horse power for Win7 or better. Always willing to acecpt donations though !! (LOL) Cheers, :mug: Joel B.

Another stupid BS question, Last Ver that works on Win XP 32 bit?

Thanks Oginme, Yeah, Ver.2.2.13 seems to be working as it should. Going to buy that edition probably today and once that is in place I'll try to upgrade per your instructions. I knew that BS3 is Win7+ and not something I can use but was just wondering about the 2.3 ver being still good for XP...

Another stupid BS question, Last Ver that works on Win XP 32 bit?

I hate to be a pain butt the BeerSmith site is worthless as to trying to find the last version that works on Win XP, I have trial Ver.2.2.13. (not yet purchased pending having the latest I can use). It talks about ver 2.3 but doesn't say if it is 32 bit XP compatible. Do I have to buy 2.2.13...

Brew Smith `stupid noobe question #?

Thanks again. I am dense, I missed this > That is why I saw the two other recipes that I had messed with. I had made changes to them and changed the date to reflect that. All other recipes are in the calendar as you stated but were dated way back (2010 - 2013) and I didn't see them because of...

Brew Smith `stupid noobe question #?

Ah yes OK ,, It worked. Not that I doubted that it would,,LOL Thanks again. But why did the other recipes go to the Calendar if I didn't add them to the Brew Log?. Joel B.

Brew Smith `stupid noobe question #?

Thanks for your help again Oginme. I used the name option to cure my ills. But as I stated in my OP I can't seem to find the brew log folder. There is no folder with that name below my "My Recipes". Oh,,, and how does BS know if I actualy "brew" a recipe or not? Thanks again, Joel B. :mug:

Brew Smith `stupid noobe question #?

I'm evaluating BS 2, (not enough computer for ver3). Why do I have calendar listings for 3 brews but only have brewed 1? There is no brew log file/folder in "my recipies" so why did they go to the calendar?. How do I remove said rouge recipies? TIA. Joel B.

Beersmith Equip. profile for extract setup

Hey, thanks for that tip. I have been thinking about doing that for color reasons so it looks looks like a win-win. I have been playing around with BS and found a few other things.. What I also found was that the paper work that I got from the kit is "pucked" when it comes to stated IBU's...

Beersmith Equip. profile for extract setup

Well I regress @Oginme , I thought I had the Hop IBU deal figured out,,,,,but I don't. I found a post in the the BS forum and it sort-of makes sense. If I understand it right, with a partial boil I get less IBU's that a full boil does with the same amount of hops. Is this correct? I ask...

Beersmith Equip. profile for extract setup

Thanks again @Orinme , I will probably use the Tenseth, method as my model. I will need to take note to the numbers and my tastes to make a base line and go from there. That's one downside of "knowing" what you are doing,, it makes it harder to blame anyone but your self for making...

Beersmith Equip. profile for extract setup

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I figured that because it was set as default. But why would a huge player in the supply ballgame use a less popular method? Just wondering,,,
