Pico Still yes is compatible and supported by the common python server known as chiefwigms/picobrew_pico. There is even an experimental feature to graph still temperature and pressure data which PB would never provide given legal battles or potential battles. The factory in China given the...

    Picobrew Z

I've heard of 2 or 3 total in last year. If PB's word is true they are more "durable material and mold" than the prior Zymatic. They even envisioned modifying them for use with the Zymatic (previously mentioned here with pdf of process and packaging).

To be clear PicoFree isn't from Picobrew and doesn't use or leverage any of Picobrew's IP and had nothing to do with the Zy or Z lines. Purely offering an automation feature for the smaller device line of C/S/Pro. For those that have these and didn't horde a 12+ month supply of PicoPaks haven't...

The cart is open again until February 24th. Has nothing to do with him not wanting to do more (though is a lot of work for no profits...) the factory printing these in China has said absolutely no more orders as they aren't in the business of printing plastic boxes.

Would likely need longer mash steps as well to make sure all the liquid is evenly recirculated over the mash. Similar with the hop additions. Will definitely be a longer brew day, you might be able to help heat loss/gain if you have a secondary heating element you could use with the strike water.

I have never washed my step filter or lid in a dishwasher even though our Bosch doesnt have a "heated dry" or "sanitize" function. I have always washed by hand, every once and a while I'll throw the mesh screens into the dishwasher and run a cycle, but never the plastic step filters. Though Z...

Update on the clean method. Sunday I let one my Z's do 3 back to back cleans where one of those was the long run PBW cycle I have posted here previously. Though this time I didn't want the long exposure to PBW (as there wasn't an active overheat blocker just wanted to get squeaky clean). After...

Compact is both good and bad. The head unit has all the parts (good) but they are so close together (bad as it gets tights especially with the "big boiler" builds).

I would bet that the HEX (which is a counter flow plate chiller BTW) is indeed copper plates. I took the fact that the acid turned blue an indication that it was doing something and scrubbing or neutralizing build up. Though not too knowledgeable of the specific chemical reaction that is taking...

It probably isn't completely required, but it is part of my normal routine after a deep clean as earlier stated.

Yup the acid is neutralizing the active ingredients in the PBW. Happens all the time and is not anything to worry about specifically.

Oh that is a good question... Don't know if I wrote that down, but I think I usually throw in 1Tbsp per gallon. I've started doing a citric acid rinse after each deep clean (every 3 cleans). Which since I switched to cleans every 2 sessions instead of 3 that is usually after 6 brew sessions...

Given I rarely use the sample port for anything other than seeing the "srm" (approx) of what is brewing (also visible via the stepfilter due to residual wort sitting at the bottom) it definitely isn't "needed". If you don't find utility in it definitely when it cracks (or before) simply remove...

Last 42hr to get in on the second and last PicoFree purchase. Shipping is still being worked out, but there is a chance to get out of China factory before CNY. There have been folks posting about their new found "freedom" on the Facebook group. Reach out if you have questions, want additional...

    PicoBrew Zymatic

Someone just uploaded this to the Facebook group for converting a Z step filter to be compatible with the Zymatic. Photos kinda suck, but hey better than nothing. At the end are "packing" instructions that look to be how these would have been packaged to ship.

Whatever you end up trying definitely come back with lessons learned or how the process went for you as if is only a matter of time unt the next is in the same boat.

The Pico-free isn't a "step filter" made from Polycarbonate, but rather a filter insert (shaped like a picopak). There currently isn't at mold for the step filters and this is the single most problematic issue I see for the future. There was talk from the main assembly line worker from Picobrew...

For those that haven't been following along on Facebook. Also if you missed the first run we have gotten word from the factory they are open for a second run and if we get orders in soon we could get them to do the run before Chinese New Year, but regardless this will be the last run they are...

For those looking for a bit more hand holding or just some colorful commentary on how to install/flash a downloadable .img file from GitHub onto an SD card (ie raspberrypints, brewpi, tiltpi, etc). I've done just that for the "chiefwigms" picobrew-pico server that had been referenced several...

    PicoBrew Z Question

I agree leave this in as to not drain the grain too quickly allowing the SF to fill up appropriately.
