Are AIO units like Spike Solo/Unibrau worth the extra money?

Exciting plans for your brew day upgrade! Our system certainly costs more but there's a saying that comes to mind; "You get what you pay for". The countertop brewing machines are fun for beginners but it's only a matter of time until you grow out of it and want more (or it wears out). Our system...

Time for a New All-In-One Brewing System

No worries on the scorched element! We've only had a handful of incidents with hundreds of units sold. The issue happens when the grain bed gets stuck and the pump continues to run draining the bottom of the kettle. Proper crush, setting of the grain bed, etc makes this a non-issue. It usually...

    Moving to e-biab

Correct. This way the controller can control the entire system without a second 110v receptacle.

    Moving to e-biab

We don't have confirmed pricing yet but even the largest system will be sub $2k. The 14-30 is the wall receptacle where as the L6-30 is the twist lock for the element.

    Moving to e-biab

Tony, sounds like an exciting upgrade! We have people every day switch from propane to electric. Once you make the switch you'll wonder why you didn't do it years before! Have you seen our new turn key single vessel system that is coming out this spring? https://spikebrewing.com/pages/ebiab...

    Spike Complete System

This is done so the HERMS our fitting and mash in aren’t touching each other. It makes opening/closing valves as well as making connections easy without busting a knuckle. We use 4’ and 6’ hoses and the 4’ hose reaches easily. Any heat loses are completely negligible.

    Spike's New Commercial Nano System

Yes, it comes with the brewing cart which has a full length drip tray right under it!

    Spike's New Commercial Nano System

Fellow brewers, we wanted to start a thread here to share some news and to also create an open dialogue for our new Spike Nano System. First, we wanted to share that we have opened up a pre-sale for our new Nano System. The pre-sale will be open until the launch date (early September) and gives...

Spike vs SS vs Stout vs... others?

Thanks for considering us! Our pre-sale is currently going on now with national launch come early September. The pre-sale is going really well but we probably won't have people up and brewing on Nano's until later in Sept. We do have a few pre-production models that some local guys will be...

Completely vapor locked - Help me pick a turn key system

Thanks for the support and welcome to the Spike family!!

    Silicone/Rubber Trivets 17" dia.

No worries on this guys! Any heat losses from the bottom are negligible. There is plenty of power to make up for any conductive losses to the table or convective losses through the sidewalls. The table around the kettles barely gets warm during the brew day.

    Spike Complete System

Couple things need to be clarified... As stated Spike Brewing Equipment is not affiliated with 'The Electric Brewery', 'Kal' or 'Spike Innovations' (who makes The Electric Brewery panels). We work with Electric Brewing Supply to produce our panels. When an issue arises our tech support team...

Impressions of Spike 15gal Electric System

Thanks for the feedback! We wanted to touch on a couple points for clarity. 1) We've had a few people ask about a sparge arm 'upgrade'. At this time we do not see the need. Our systems offer mid-80% efficiencies so there's not much room for improvement. We recommend following our Product Guide...

    Spike Complete System

Pete, we saw your post and wanted to connect you with our sales manager Ryan. Would you be able to PM us your email so we can connect before HBC and make sure we are able to connect with you there?

    push to connect fittings: SpikeBrewing

Sorry about the issue! We would recommend trying to push the HERMS coil in further. Most the time the issue is that the coil is not fully seated. It is recommended to use a little water to help lubricator the seals.

Bayou Classic 1064 vs Spike Brewing 10Gal for Induction Brewing

Our kettles are specifically designed to work with induction. The thicker material will also help slow down temp losses. The Bayou's are made from a lower grade magnetic stainless that 'works' on induction as it's magnetic; however they were not designed with that intended use. Hope that makes...

Bayou Classic 1064 vs Spike Brewing 10Gal for Induction Brewing

Our kettle is designed for induction. The tri-clad bottom has a magnetic bottom, aluminum core and 304 stainless main body. The aluminum helps evenly distribute the heat that is generated in the bottom magnetic stainless. The Bayou is not designed to work with induction but will heat up as they...

Turn Key eHERMS Brewery - The Spike System

Awesome! If he has any questions please let us know. It's a very simple install for an electrician though. Add a GFCI breaker, run 4 wires and install an outlet.

Turn Key eHERMS Brewery - The Spike System

No tri-clamp turn key version. The TC fittings just aren't needed on the hot side of brewing. They are blingy but don't add any function. They actually add a lot of cost and hamper the functionality on such a small brewing scale. Watch the video and you'll see how easy the push to connect...
