    Overdue post, I had forgotten about this thread. I've never had an issue with "slime". Note that I'm using this with kegs that I store under pressure with CO2. For the glass carboys, they are also semi-sealed with saran wrap or a stopper (w/o a hole). Even if there were slime, I'm not sure...

    After I clean carboys and kegs, I use another keg with Star San (pressurized a bit with co2) and pump some Star San into the newly cleaned container (carboy or keg). For carboys, I shake it up and seal the carboy with a carboy bung/stopper w/o hole, or simply with saran wrap plus a rubber band...

    Experienced BIAB Brewers – I Need Your Input

    Brewed what I thought was my 50th batch today. To celebrate my beer drinking roots, I made a batch of ..... Rolling Rock. To do so, I had to modify my process to brew with the lid on (to keep that awesome DMS in the pot). Currently in my basement already starting to go using Cry Havoc...

    Survey completed. Stacking wood today (wet day but not raining) rather than in the woods felling trees, cutting or splitting. Have strike water for a brew just about ready but may wait until tonight to brew.

    IPA/DIPA Recipe for Summit, Columbus and Willamette

    Everybody's different in terms of what they want out of brewing. Me, I brewed a kit eons ago and then restarted about four years ago. I've done lots of batches that when I drank it said "Damm, this is good!", and have had others that were definitely mediocre. I also tend to brew at least 50%...

    All foam corny keg

    Also watch out if you dry hop in the keg. I've had a couple of occasions where the hop bag gets stuck at the bottom where the beverage out is and the result is foam galore.

    My LHBS Stores grain in Garbage bins, should I be concerned?

    Interestingly enough, I know small breweries that don't crush their grain but rather order it pre-crushed. [I know this isn't what you are saying, just trying to provide a complete picture of the options for those who might not know.] They do so because they don't want the "hassle" of crushing...

    lets see your full Fermenters

    I got to do this one some of my carboys...much better than taking 4x6 index cards and taping them to the carboy. I've got 6 carboys going at the same time, it gets confusing after a while as to what has what. :mug:
