I've got about 95% of the equipment needed for a RIMS system: RIMS tube, PID, etc. Other than one test batch the system is new. I'm no longer in a position to use it so I'm seeing if anyone local is interested. I will only sell the items as a package deal of components, the system will not come...

I've only shopped at Brew Time twice, since my all grain supply is just now dwindling. Don't have too high of an opinion one way or the other yet. I've had the most luck with Alaska Home Brew Supply in Palmer for when I can plan ahead. I'll probably be hitting Brew Time up soon for grain for an...

Wired - in Fairbanks there are 2 breweries you should check out: Silver Gulch located about 15 minutes north of town, and HooDoo, right in town. Silver Gulch has a full restaurant, while HooDoo is a tap room that generally has some food options available.

What I did for beer today

Brewed a maibock. Put my keg of Annibrewsary in the kegerator. Kegged my 567 IPA. Sorted and organized my 9 pounds of hops. Am just finishing up the mash and beginning the boil for my doppelbock. I do believe I'm going to need a beer before too long! Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

What I did for beer today

Brewed up a 5-gallon batch of IPA, kegged my Annibrewsary, and dried out some of the spent grain from the day's brew session. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

What I did for beer today

Nicely done! There are many, many amazing brewing platforms I've seen on this site over the years, and I've come to appreciate the simplicity of wood. When I rebuilt mine last summer, I ended up doing a single tier wooden platform, primarily to justify getting a pump. 🍻. Not fancy, but...

What I did for beer today

Hahaha! Mine hasn't seen "the list", but she knows it's coming. I will be picking up ingredients for the lagers this weekend, so I can get those knocked out first. Any particular styles you're focusing on? I'll be brewing a handful I'm comfortable with, and several handfuls that I've never done...

What I did for beer today

Started to map out an upcoming brew schedule. Between providing beer for a wedding reception, wanting to submit 10 different batches in the local homebrew competition this summer, and general consumption, I've got at least 14 batches to brew between now and June. What I did for beer today

After two days of running the propane heater both zones finally opened up and we have heat flowing to the concrete pad again! And equally important, the beer is happily fermenting away in the fermentation chamber!

What I did for beer today

Strangest brew day ever. Decided to brew the Nutcastle from BCS - simple grain bill, simple recipe, brewed it several times before. It was -35° outside, so as usual in the winter I brewed inside the garage with the door slightly cracked. In the afternoon my wife mentions how cold the garage was...

What I did for beer today

Picked up 55 lbs of 2-row, received 15 lbs of Maris otter and a new auto siphon in the mail. Need to order some 1028 for next week's brew session, and need to start working up some recipes for a friend's wedding reception. It's in early June, so time is currently on my side.

What I did for beer today

Brewed up an American rye wheat from BCS. I ended up with a stuck mash from the 50% rye and wheat grist, so by the time I cleared it, I was a little low on sparge water. Counter flow chiller also stuck for the first time mid-chill. Could have definitely been worse ways to spend my day off.

What beer did you drink with your Thanksgiving dinner?

Along with lunch I had a half glass of my cranberry rhubarb blonde ale. With dinner I will probably have some combination of the above-mentioned beer, a saison, and/or a cherry saison. Cheers - Happy Thanksgiving!

What I did for beer today

Looking forward to serving up a cranberry rhubarb blonde ale at a Pre-Thanksgiving dinner tonight, as well as popping the cork on my first bottle of cherry saison.

What I did for beer today

Absolutely! I used the saison recipe from Brewing Classic Styles. Decided to go big, and brewed a 10-gallon batch of the specialty version. Split the 10-gallons into 2 fermentors, 5 gallons with saison, 5 gallons with Roesalare. Took the 5-gallons of non-sour, bottled half and split the other...

What I did for beer today

The one on the left was a random wooden crate we had that was essentially worthless until I started brewing. The one of the right was one I made by hand about a year ago. It didn't quite turn out as intended, but it's held up surprisingly well and holds a case of 12 oz bottles.
