    Another effeciency thread :(

it is hard to guess what your efficiency will be the first time around. What type of set up are you using for a mash tun? Do you have a false bottom or a manifold? Are you going to fly sparge or batch sparge? I think an easy first ag beer to make would be some sort of brown ale.

How does YOUR Barley Crusher adjust?

is that offer to send the instructions for the barley crusher still good? I would love to get a copy. I just bought one used from someone getting out of brewing. I want to check and set the gap on the mill before I use it for the first time.

    rubbery aroma?

usally brew in the same place. We have made probally 50 beers or more and it has only turned up in about 4 maybe 5 of them. We have gone through our routine several times to figure out what is wrong. We have had 3 of them turn out rubbery since we switched over to a converted keg for o brew pot...

    rubbery aroma?

we use star san like we always have. We have not changed the way do things either it is really weird that it is random from batch to batch. It makes it a lot harder to figure out the problem really is because we are pretty consistant in our methods. It has been in a couple of different styles...

    nugget nectar

I have seen a couple threads on how to clone the NN. Have not seen a definate recipe or any final comparison between the real thing and the homebrew. If anyone has made this and it came out really close I would love to see what hop schedule was used. On the Troegs site the say the hops used are...

    natural carbonating in a keg

I am actually putting this in a keg for a party and dont actually have any kegging equipment of my own. It is on my wish list though. Thanks for all the info. I am making a coffee stout so I dont need a whole lot of carbonation. I am sure that the keg has a good seal so that should not be a big...

    Dry hopping question

I have dry hopped several beers and the only problem I have come across is dry hopping for too long. I think that there is no real risk with dry hopping as long as you dry hop for 2 weeks or less. I like to like to shoot for about a week. Happy brewing!!

    natural carbonating in a keg

Just made my first beer that I plan on kegging. Never used a keg before and dont have any CO2 tanks for forced carbonating. Was wondering if I use the same amount of priming sugar for kegging as I would if I were bottling. I am using a 5gal corny keg. Thanks for any info!:mug:

New need some help brewing beer

i would just rack the beer after five days into your carboy. As far as the yeast nutrient that is just kind of an insurance policy for your yeast. It is not totally necessary. I would also rack back into the bucket before I bottle because you will not have as much debris as you would bottleing...
