Long duct run for indoor brewery ventilation

Thanks Brewbyrd! So do you think having a better supply of intake area will impact condensation?

Long duct run for indoor brewery ventilation

Here are some pics. I added aluminum duct tape to the inlet hood joint in order to make it a smoother transition. I also tilted the hood to slope toward the drain to promote condensate running to that location. Going to give it a try again in a week or so and see if any of that helped. Thank...

Long duct run for indoor brewery ventilation

Thanks for feedback all! There is a lot of condensation in the condensate hood. So much so, that it is dripping off the hood and back into my kettles. I do not have any baffles on my condensate hood, it is a simple stainless steel box with a vent hole at the top. What I'm wondering is if I...

Long duct run for indoor brewery ventilation

Thank you for feedback. I know it is not 100% additive, but do you happen to know how to calculate equivalent CFM of two fans in series with one another? Also, technically the opening in the hood is the lowest point in the entire system. Is that a bad design?

    California SF Bay Area: Stainless Steel (304) Condensate Hood 5' x 2' x 1'

I am installing the non-dented hood tomorrow and will take pictures and post to this thread. A little bit more information I forgot to include: This hood was build by Larkin Hoods (http://www.larkinhoods.com/) It is their standard economy hood that was made to the custom dimensions I...

    WTB stainless condensate hood

I realize this post is old, but I'm about to hang my condensate hood and wanted to see if you had any advice. It looks like you used strut? Did you just bolt that to joists and then hang threaded rod from it?

    California SF Bay Area: Stainless Steel (304) Condensate Hood 5' x 2' x 1'

I'm an officer in San Francisco Homebrewers Guild, so I'm partial to us :) I've been asking around, but don't know anyone doing an indoor electric brewery build right now. Thank you for suggestion though!

    California SF Bay Area: Stainless Steel (304) Condensate Hood 5' x 2' x 1'

I still have not removed it from crating material, so it is hard get a good picture. I have attached a picture of the dent/damaged area. It does not have beautiful welds and the hood is not flawless cosmetically, but it is functional and a great price. If people are more serious about...

    California SF Bay Area: Stainless Steel (304) Condensate Hood 5' x 2' x 1'

I ordered a condensate hood for my new indoor electric brewery build. During delivery there was a slight dent in hood. The fabricator decided to send me a new hood and FedEx paid claim and decided it was not worth shipping hood back across the country, so they left me with both hoods. It is...

Recirculating with Therminator: Subsequent off flavor problem

Thanks Vlad! I had some of my BJCP friends taste my last 2 batches and they said I'm being hyper critical, but they can notice a very faint hint of the off flavor I'm describing. I'm going to try recirculating hot PBW followed by hot water rinse before I brew next time. It is just strange that...
