2 o rings on the dip tubes???

i'm here, what did i miss? if you need two o-rings, make sure to put some keg lube on the top one. otherwise the dip tube might get a kink in it.

    Crushing grain without a mill

LOL, i believe that was said tongue and cheek... ;) (but surprised it didn't have any effect?)

    Beer Gods

well it's 10pm now and bed time because i gotta get up early to brew, but i'll post a new pic tomorrow. scrubed clean. but i'm not shure how i'd clean the ice cream pick. when i don't have it in there, it scares me because i live in ratle snake country.

you never get skid marks between your taps? or are you just THAT good at kegging and never get gas? lol, i'm still proud the beer gods blessed me with advice on the scale! love that thing..........still! edit: and those taps have been there for 16 years! you were just documenting having to buy...

    What are you drinking now?

my first inaugural glass, that i got a laugh sticking a HBT sticker on! i liked the combo of brown rice and roast barley!

damn man. i'd be drinking wheat germ table sugar washes before i was forking out $30 for 8 beers....nothing wrong with DME, it's like flavored sugar that allready has nutes for the yeast! :mug: (just requires paying other people to take some of the work off your shoulders.)

damn, now there's a piece of work! what's next are they going to try and get people to main-line it, or snort it? vape maybe!

i eat cheap too. maybe i should start a thread, is eating beans, and rice cheaper then eating meat? ;) (and here's what a $1.49 bag of your split peas looks like on my end!) now if i wanted it good, and fast, expensive, i could use my All-American pressure cooker, and cook them with ham...

is that a future prediction, for your next mistake. most people around here say it doesn't work. makes me want to try it again with a $100 ph meter! ;) lol, damn and i just had to drop over 40 on a new probe too!

when i first started brewing a twelver of milwaukee's was 4.99. and it cost me $25 to brew a five gallon batch. now a twelve pack of "The best from milwaukee" costs ~$9 and i brew a 10 gallon batch of 8-9% for $28. or $8 depending if i feel like malting my own or not......

but i just posted this pic in another thread, and i can brew a 99 cent twelve pack of 8% beer... "You can always save money and just buy a fishing poll and fish from the pier!" ;)

    Roasting Malt?

maybe i'll pick up a 20lb bag of white rice for $8 next time i'm at the store. just need like 2 lb's extra, why i don't want to split up the malt!
  16. bracconiere

    Roasting Malt?

hmm, i need to brew friday, and haven't decided what to brew myself! but in my case i need an extender, now that i get 95% effec and the malt comes in 10 pound bags, i have to figure out how to get 1.060 with 15lb base malt! tougher then you may think! :D
  17. bracconiere

    Roasting Malt?

well don't keep us hangin! ;) :mug: what did you decide?

i've never gotten past my 18 year old brain saying, "you mean i can make beer?" lol

    Roasting Malt?

? i think you're the one hitting the sauce tonight! :mug: @seatazzz he's worried about toasting already milled grain at 350f for 30 minutes. another option i'd throw out is for the small amount of "toasted" grain. do it exactly like spices and put it in a pan and toss till fragrant.

    Roasting Malt?

i'm going to tag @seatazzz on this for a third opinion, so you're not misguided by me....she makes her own crystal in an air fryer, and would have some more input. but i would add as long as the grain is dry it wouldn't f'up the enzymes too much. water and heat is the bain of esters and amides.....
