    Broken 3g carboy...

    I brewed up 3 gallons of an ESB... and well, my only 3g carboy broke. So I evenly put the wort in to three 1g carboys and then topped them up, somewhat equal. Was just wondering, I am now at bottling... Should I just mix them all together and prime it and bottle? or should i do each separate??

    My weekend was busy... So just making a batch of Summer Ale with a dash of lemon and a tad of ginger. We'll see how it goes.

    Going tomorrow to buy some more grains... Make a ESB. And a light summer ale with ginger and lemon zest. Maybe throw together a SMaSH as well.

    An Extract bitter Recipe...

    I am trying to come up with a recipe for my dad, that loves bitters... and I thought I would ask you guys before I went head over heels on something that is going to taste like poop. This is what I have come up with... SP - Extract BI Bitter - Extra Special/Strong Bitter (English Pale Ale)...

    How much yeast for 1 gallon batch?

    I have a cyser going as well, at about 1.100... has been on for about a month and a half now. I only pitched half a pack of EC1118. We'll see how it all turns out. Have fun with your 1 gallon batches! they are my fave thing to do. :D

    Making a sour cider

    That looks just lovely. I really like that. I will have to try to do some of that. I think the rhubarb is coming out nicely right now. Reminds me of my nana, as she used to make me strawberry rhubarb pie for my birthday every year at this time. I cannot wait to get my hands on some of this! :D

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

    Next weekend, I am going to start up doing some 1g brews. I've been doing 5.5g, 6g and 3g batches of beer and cider, but I wanted to start experimenting with hops and grains. See what I can get done. I am pretty excited. Lots of reading about grains. YAHOO!

    So who's brewing this weekend?

    Got my brew on yesterday... Did my first all grain, which was a smokey Apple beer. We'll see how it turned out. 3 gallon batch. Smells good. Looks really cloudy . . . Also did a Lilac Wine... Came out a nice colour. Yay!

    Forgot to get OG...

    So, I just finished doing an apple beer... and got it all in the carboy... and forgot to take a OG reading. It has been in there for about 30 mins. Is there anything I can do? Put it through BeerSmith and see what they say?? Ummmm... should of been babysitting while I was making beer. Doh.

    First Recipe for Indian Black Ale or BIPA or CDA

    I did a batch of the BIPA from the recipe section... The Darth Vader BIPA. It came out really nice. Not as hoppy as I would of liked it, but dad isn't a big HOP guy. Nice to see a fellow North Vancouver brewer in here. :)

    Cider virgin

    I was going to rack some of my fermented cider on to a couple apple in a secondary... See how that goes. See if it adds anything to it. If you do it that way, let us know how it goes. I'm interested.

    Do I dare drink it?

    I used the same recipe and got snotty clumps in it. It wasn't too bad. I don't think I boiled the cinnamon long enough. But they were still drinkable. I had a bottle of it last nite. Tasted like apple pie!
