    Making vinegar from beer

Been reading this thread for a while... I was pretty interested in making my own vinegar... So i got a 1.5L glass jar and threw in some tropical blonde ale, sitting at 5.8%, that i had made. It has been about just shy of a week, and I can already smell a bit of an acidic smell. I am excited! Thanks!

What I did for beer today

I helped one of my pale ales escape a bottle about 5 mins ago. And now I am off to clean up from bottling my pumpkin brown ale.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Made a pale ale last with lots of cascade. Tonight I'm just bring a brown Ale to a boil. Added pumpkin and acorn squash to the mash... Looking forward to it. Still deciding if I should add any pumpkin pie spice to it....

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Hope it is a typo... Doesn't seem like much hops for an IPA. :)

    Over Cooled my wort...

It was covered up. It's down to about 65F... or so. But it has been sitting there for a good 10 hours or so...

    Over Cooled my wort...

I was cooling my wort in an ice bath last night, and I fell asleep. Note to self: Don't brew later in the evening. Should it still be okay? Pour in to my brew bucket and pitch the yeast?? Hoping I haven't ruined a whole batch.

Want to Make a Berliner - Help!

I may make a starter and let it kettle sour over the week... See how that does. I don't have any temp control at all... No room for it. Was looking for a cheap electric blanket or something... No one had one I could borrow. Doh! Thanks for all the help. I'll let you know how it all goes. ;)

Want to Make a Berliner - Help!

So I have ingredients to make a Berliner Weiss. And I would love to make it, as I love the style. But the only thing is, I cannot keep a full 3 gallons at 100-110F for a couple of days. Is there any way I can make a lacto starter and then add enough to the wort I make to make it a sour? Blend it...

    Darth Vader IPA

I've made the same recipe, but upped it up to a 6 gallon batch and tweaked it a little bit, as my LHBS doesn't carry some of the things. And truly, it's a nice nice black with a little bit of reddish to it. It comes out with a good hoppiness, but not too much, so non IPA likers can also enjoy...

    Kegging cider...?

Sweet. I'll have to play around with it. I like the idea of that. ;)
