    Hard Water/ sanatizer

That's my plan now as well. I can't trust whether its working in my hard water without ph stips. I'll just go to RO and that way I can use it over and over.

    Hard Water/ sanatizer

No, sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant you mix the iodopher with water, use it, and then toss it. IOW, you can't store it like starsan and it stay effective long term. I'm fairly confident that iodopher is not affected by the minerals in your water. I have super hard water that instantly...

    Hard Water/ sanatizer

No iodopher doesn't get cloudy, but I don't think you are supposed to keep it for long periods like star san. I think you mix it up, use it and toss it. I have heard that its good as long as it maintains its amber color.

    Hard Water/ sanatizer

I have incredibly hard water and mine turns instantly cloudy; I mean just about totally opaque. I emailed five stars and here was there response: "If the solution turns cloudy it is starting to go bad. The surfactant is coming out of solution. If you use DI water from the store, it won’t...

What's your favorite "big" commercial beer?

I've started becoming fond of Delirium Tremens. The beer. Not the shakes I usually have in the morning :drunk:

SS washer hose VS. CPVC/Copper mash tun

I've been using it for 10+ years and according to beersmith I'm hitting efficiencies around 88% and always hit my O.G. mark or a little above. The little bit of liquid loss has been a non-factor. I still highly recommend it and have never had anything even remotely approaching a stuck sparge.

    Will this keg work?

Realize that has a sanke tap setup, not a corney lid set up. So its going to be a bit more complicated for your kegging purposes.

    Sanitizer - I think I found a nice alternative

Hey if it's good enough for cow udders.......:)

SS washer hose VS. CPVC/Copper mash tun

"Bazooka T" FTW! They work great in the coolers, especially the cubes and never a stuck sparge. I've been using one for over 10 years in the cooler mashtun and its never let me down.

    Grain bag squeezing

I would disagree with your first assessment. I think you get more benefit out of it then you indicate, and certainly more than that which an extra tablespoonof grain would yield. I used to get a lot of extra color and potentially flavor ouT of squeezing my bag of steeping grains when I used to...

    Grain bag squeezing

I think what Revvy is trying to say is: SQUEEZE THE DAMN BAG!! :)

    I Hate Whole Hops!

    I highly recommend it! :ban:

    I Hate Whole Hops!

Whole hops all the way. I buy in bulk from freshops. Pellets clog EVERYTHING. The screen on my diptube, the plate chiller, etc. Whole hops are way easier, and if you use a hop bag, just squeeze the sucker and all the liquid comes out.
