To squeeze or not to squeeze (the grain bag)...

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, Methinks that a rinse would still have nearly the same effects as a squeeze in terms of releasing particulates. (But maybe I'm overthinking this. Where is the DAMN UPS GUY!!!!!)

    How Does IPA Grab YOU???

I guess thats what ya get from left over stout and IPA ingredients. It looks great. Not really that dark so far, but it still has a lot of settling to do. I got the chocolate idea from a recipe I read somewhere. Guess I stick to the lighter side of things to make a true IPA. OR I...

    How Does IPA Grab YOU???

Took the Frank Ellis recipe from Beer Beer & More Beer (which is very, very tasty) and modified it a bit, using mostly leftover ingredients and this is what I got. Roadrunner IPA (One crossed my path as I came home to ice my brew.) 9lbs Extra Light Malt Extract 1/2lb Crystal 60 3/4lb...

    Trouble With My IPA

My first brew, a whole 4 months ago, tasted horrible initially: really bitter and too hoppy. I added the dry hops into the pot and boiled them away. Total newbie mistake. BUT..... After a bit of time it is actually pretty tasty. In fact after a few other beers it's REALLY TASTY...

    Brewing this Weekend?

Racked my stout (which seems to be more of a porter with oats) to secondary and had a bit of time left to brew an IPA. I love when the wife endulges my hobbies.

    Yeast Cake???

What is a yeast cake? AND How does one pitch upon it? I know that this sounds like a newbie question, and it is. I have my third batch bubbling strong, and it has a nice Dry English Ale Yeast in it and I plan to do an IPA once this is done. So.........

    Recipe Help

Thanks for all of the quick help. I think that I'll lower the crystal 60 by half a pound. Definitely add the oats. (Should I roast them and the barely first?) Jury is still out on the cocoa powder. (Definitely not gonna use actual chocolate - looks too messy.) Still toying with the...
