    100% Maple Syrup

How long would you suggest leaving it in a secondary? I assume I would add it to the secondary first and then siphon in the beer in hopes to let it mix well. Then let it sit for a week before transferring to the keg? I was even thinking of adding it directly to the corny, shake it up for...

    100% Maple Syrup

Wanted to add some maple syrup as a late addition to the boil of a porter I am going to brew. Possibly right at flame out. Wondering how much to add for a 5 gallon batch? Bottles of syrup are 12.5 fluid ounces on average and was thinking one would be enough to start and experiment. Any words...

    Oxidation

Thanks for the replies... I usually try to cut the flow just as the bubbles show up in the tube and stop them from reaching the beer. I usually get a little splashing just from removing the tube from the carboy but that it. This was just excessive from what I am used to so it bummed me out...

    Oxidation

    Orange Zest

When adding fresh orange zest to the boil when should it be done? 5 minutes? 1 minute? Flame out?

    Spilled some yeast...

OG was around 1.060. I didn't realize I needed to make a starter with the white labs since it says it actually is one on the vile but in further reading on their site they recommend for OG's over 60. I will definitely do that in the future. Beer has a nice aggressive freaky looking Krausen...

    Spilled some yeast...

Whipped up a batch last night... Going for a dry hopped Red Ale (or Red IPA I guess). Dry hopping with Falconers Flight. When I went to pitch the California V White Labs Yeast and removed the cap some spilled out since it was under pressure. Maybe a 1/4 of the vile. Maybe a little less...
