Will do. I'll send you all of the details.

Way cool Send me some pics...and some pork! Have fun grilling! I'm gonna drink some Buffalo Bill's Pumpkin Ale, have a pipe (Blue Note in my Georg Jensen, I think), and chill. The kit will get here eventually. I've got an American Pale Ale extract kit coming with it, so I'll get my first brew...

    To all Beginners

Aw, c'mon, Breaux. You know you done gradyated the 8th grade!
  4. LouisianaVince

    First Step!

I may never get my kit. Maybe I wasn't meant to brew. I know one thing for certain. If given a choice between UPS and ANY OTHER METHOD (Bubba's 69 Rambler Delivery Service...I don't care), I will never choose UPS again. The address correction I called in to customer service never made it to...

Somebody needs to tell these children that crack kills!

I remember making model cars and blowing them up with M80's or Silver Salutes!

Somebody needs to tell these children that crack kills!

And where are they now? From left to right: Eugene Freidlemeyer - Inventor of the failed Mac-clone, Lemon MacIntrash computers. He lost his shirt in this venture and is currently living under an overpass in San Jose, CA with his 3-legged chihuahua Speedy. Sally Ann Smith-Jones -...

    Buffalo Bill's

Vtbrew, If you ever go to the San Francisco area, BBB is definitely worth taking the time to visit. Go for lunch or dinner. The food in their restaurant is great. My favorite year round beer there is Tasmanian Devil, but they have a seasonal called Alimony Ale that I absolutely love.

    First Step!

Grrrrrrrr. Ordering problems have delayed my start. 1. The Listermann site was not prepared for an address with an apostrophe in the street name. That eventually got cleared up, and I got my order placed. 2. When Listermann transmitted my shipping address to UPS, either Listermann or UPS...

    Buffalo Bill's

Too Cool. I just found out that Buffalo Bills distributes a small selection of their brews to certain stores, and Cost Plus carries their Pumpkin Ale. There's a store in Baton Rouge, so I'm gonna get some BBB Pumpkin Ale today! I haven't had any in about 6 years.

Thanks, Breaux. Now that you've bottled one batch and you've got 2 more in the works, you know I'm going to bug you with a bunch of questions. Hope you don't get sick of me!

    First Step!

OK...I ordered the Brewer's Best Equipment Kit (a basic two-bucket kit) and an American Pale Ale kit, from Listermann's, today. I'm excited about getting it and getting started! I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions as my first brew day approaches. On a side note, Baton Rouge has a home...

    Howdy

Hey Spyk'd, I drove right past Waveland the other day. I took the family to Gulf Shores, AL for the weekend. We had a great time. It looks like a lot of the MS Gulf Coast is in heavy rebuild mode, and that's great news. I hope you get back to your real home, soon. Then you can start using...

    Howdy

It's weird. I live an hour from New Orleans, and I haven't gone yet. My son paints apartments, and he works down there a couple of days a week. His accounts of what he sees is enough for me. I was pretty encouraged, though, with some of the footage shown during the Saints game last night (GO...

    Best Bottles

Thanks for the link, Walker-san, and thanks to everyone who posted replies! This was an interesting and informative thread. I think I'll start saving Sam Adams bottles. Guess I'd better get busy drinking! Too bad about Bass bottles. I had two right after work. Oh well!

    Best Bottles

NOTE: I've been searching for a thread like this, and I haven't found it. If it already exists, I'd be just as happy with a link to the previous thread as I would with actual replies. Why duplicate the effort, right? So, here's the question. I figure while I'm saving up for brewing supplies...

    Listermann???

Has anyone tried Listermann's basic kit? Money is an issue for me, and I'm in the free shipping zone (East of the Mississippi River). It's only $56. If anyone has used this kit, I'd like your feedback. Please include any notes on additional items you had to purchase to make this kit effective...

    Buffalo Bill's

Baton Rouge just has bars, for the most part. No microbreweries, no really cool pubs, to speak of. But when I lived in CA, I really liked going to Buffalo Bill's Brewery in Hayward. They had some excellent beers and ales, and the food they served was pretty good, too. Vince

IF you can make a gumbo? Come on, I'm our Daddy's son, too! You KNOW I can make a gumbo. But I'm not sure how I'll handle a recipe that doesn't start with, "First you make a roux."

    How did you find us?

Hey TxBrew, My brother (beer4breakfast) turned me on to the forum. I haven't started brewing yet, and he's just recently started. We tend to influence each other's hobbies that way. He introduced me to cigar smoking, I introduced him to pipe smoking, we both love grilling, although he's much...
