    Burned Keezer

    Holy mother of wow!

Two batches under my belt...and two ruined digital thermometers?

Nope, sadly those things are not waterproof between the cable and the probe. I've heard some have had success in baking them in the oven for a period of time to dry them out and bring them back to life.

    Show us your Kegerator

Stainless steel construction vs chrome plated brass. Forward seal means they don't get sticky, gummy inside if you don't pull a beer for a while.

    Brewpubs That Suck

Brewpub owner? Sorry to offend, but if you're going to sell beer and you've been doing it a while, your beer shouldn't taste like ass. Yep, big diff between 5 gal and 7 bbl but it's not rocket science. Do it right or don't do it.

It was in the Waterloo / Cedar Falls area.

    Brewpubs That Suck

This! And no waitress will be allowed to say things like "this beer is like Miller Lite" or "that beer is similar to Blue Moon" or "it's a pale ale so it's really hoppy".

    Brewpubs That Suck

Don't you hate it when you go to a brewpub and order a beer only to get a beer that just isn't that good? I went to a place over the weekend and ordered their IPA. I had to send it back it was so bad. The beer either had an infection or their lines needed cleaned badly. The second beer was...

    Stainless Reducing Nipples

On second thought, you're probably better off getting the 1/2" NPT sight glass kit. http://www.brewhardware.com/sightglass/83-weldless-sight-kit-wthermometer-4ezst-240 Threads right into your 1/2" coupling on your keggle. No point getting the weldless version if you have a 1/2" coupling...

    Stainless Reducing Nipples

You could use a reducing bushing: http://www.bargainfittings.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=36_39_59&product_id=71 and then either use a close nipple between the reducer and the tee, or you could use a tee that has a male end...

    Second Sour Batch... Frustrated

I would recommend switching to Star San. It's no rinse and contact times are short. One Step as B-Bright are cleaners that also bill themselves as sanitizers. You can use them as sanitizers but contact times are 30-60 minutes and then you have to rinse. Never liked that slick, slimy feeling...

I already have a kegorator, but this sure would be fun..

I missed the Criagslist post. What did you pay for that thing? Just wondering how bad I should hate you. :) Nice score! Have fun with that.

What do you think of these gas valves.

Awesome score. Those should work great. You'll have to add pilot burners (unless you have those too). It looks like they have the thermocouple but if not, you'll need those too. That transformer is rated for 40VA (volt amps). The Coleman valves say .23 amps so multiplying by 24 volts, that's...

Just another electric brewery build thread.

Nice welds! Looks like you found someone with some experience working in the dairy industry.

Strange looking grain/seeds in my 2-row?

1 out of 100 sounds like 1%, not "less than 1%". Never seen such a thing in any of the grain I've bought.
