Here are my first year Centennials. I have 4 bines growing up a pole w/ wire threaded through the top. I clamped a piece of PVC pipe to an old washline pole in my yard - tops out at about 15 feet. One of the bines is already producing cones, another isn't far behind, one is really lagging...

I think I've read that the yeast will "peter out" from using straight sugar and you won't get very good fermentation when you pitch it.

I like that setup. I might give it a try but without the automation, just manually lowering the manifold into the 4 bottles.

Brewed the NorthernBrewer "Tongue Splitter" extract kit. We decided to change it up a bit: I found some floppy disk labels for a laserjet laying around the office and they are a perfect bottle label size! :mug:
