Well, 3 of the people who said they would show up were within 10 minutes of me, so drive time wasn't an issue. And as far as why it's 8-5, pick up is at my work, and those are my work hours.

Thanks scuba Steve. Biab just makes a lot of sense for many people, less equipment, less expensive, less space, and the full brewing experience.

I do, I roll my biab stand right up to my conical in my ferm chamber, turn on the water, then turn on my pump and adjust the flow, I can usually transfer right Into the conical at around 78ish, saves a good amount of time.

just did a test run ( no grain ) of new stand, it performed excellent. it took 31minutes to take the water from 72 degrees to 152, let it sit for an hour and I only lost 2 degrees, then it took another 34 minutes to take it to a boil, all in all, it looks like I should have a time savings of...

free stand , no pump, no burner or mounts, just a frame, needs new casters. you pick it up in anaheim ca. ball road and state college area. doesnt look as nice as it did in these pics, paints chipped / burned off a lot. I took the hoist crank and cable off, but the hoist frame is still there...

my neighbor at work is doing most of the welding, he's been teaching me how to weld, but my welds still look horrible. this rotating hoist seems so much nicer than my previous version, sturdy as can be, and rotates so smooth.

regarding the grill / grate, I went with that style set up to be able to use different pots easily, that way i can do different size batches, or even use it as a turkey fryer around the holidays, or it could be a campfire stove should it need to be.

new burner mounts, with windscreen. grill/ grate and windscreen are removable to easily adjust burner height.
