    Groomsmen Gifts

My groomsmen were my younger brother and BIL and best college buddy. All were kinda strapped for cash so I bought their tuxes for them. Maybe not a lasting gift, but I always thought it silly that you ask people to be in your wedding and ask them to shell out $150 per tux. They all...

    Why do I DIY.

It sounds like you just need to spend some more time planning and researching before doing. The key to good project management is 90% of your effort goes into planning so things go (relatively) smoothly once you move to implementation!

AB-InBev fights to prevent HB602 from becoming law

Did anyone here even read HB602??? (attached below) The whole amendment is only to distribute enclosed bottles to someone who has gone on a tour. It appears to have NOTHING to do with self distributing to bars, distributing to a bar owned by a brewery, or impacting distribution. This is why AB...

Thanks for the tips folks! I'm a displaced Red Wings fans and there is no hockey here which amazes me. How can WI not have a professional team? Anyway, I'm looking forward to finding a stream so I can actually watch a game. Its just no good listening to the red wings audio feed on nhl.com...

sanity check - are ball valves directional?

A little drunk last night and didn't complete my thought! While engineering convention is indeed to put the valve handle open in the direction of flow, on tanks it never really mattered since they would run into the same issue. All tank valves point out anyway, which is what you have so don't...

sanity check - are ball valves directional?

Ball valves are not directional, but plumbing and engineering convention leads one to set up the valve handle to point in the direction of flow whenever possible.

How are you measuring your water?

If you want to verify any container, 1 gallon of water is 8.345 lbs. Just calibrated my stuff this weekend!

Best way to manage kegging pipeline.

I am here to help shed some light on kegging systems! As St. Marcos hinted at, you need to have your system balanced...not adjust pressures!!!!!!!!!!!! First, use the beer carbonation chart that Seven posted. Find your serving temperature and cross reference it with the style's carbonation...

homebrew on keg seems a little undercarbed?

If you are overcarbed and getting excessive foam when you pour, that could result in a perceived undercarbed beer. Reason is that it degasses more than you would if the system is properly balanced. If you are running 13-14 psi you should be using 6-8 ft of hose. Everyone sells 5 and the...

    Colored Cooler for MLT?

I have an old cooler that I was looking to turn into my MLT. However, this cooler is actually made of a green plastic inside. Anyone have any experience with a colored cooler versus white? I'm almost thinking about buying a new one just to avoid leaching as the white plastic should only be...

Beer is carbed, too much head- keg lines 5'

Longer beer line...start with 10 ft and cut it down 4 inches at a time until its pouring at a standard of 1 gallon/min. (you can test this with a keg full of water at the same pressure on the line to save beer...or its about 5-6 sec to fill a 12 oz glass) Also make sure you are using 3/16" ID...

You do know that Santa is a fictional character made up to dupe children into listening to their parents, right?

    Dealing with camlock spills?

Set up a transfer line that only has a camlock on one end. Then you have a piece of tubing to feed into a carboy or other small necked vessel. Just like racking, but with a pump!
