    I did it cause I had extra grain that would go bad before I brewed the next time. Used no hops just wanted to see how high I could go.

    I brewed a 1/2 gallon batch to see how high a OG I could get,don't remember all my number's but my OG came in at .140 pitched a full pack of US-05 on Sunday last week, I just pulled a hydro sample it's at .040 and was/is still bubbling. Anybody ever do something like this.

    400 is what they say is best that's what I have don't think I would go lower/smaller then 300 micron.And that might plug up.

    So just start with a half a teaspoon of each per 5 gallons of distilled water and see how that goes. Sounds simple.

    Without reading this whole thread and if I did proly would still not understand this whole water thing if i start with RO or distilled water what would I do just to make a all around good water. I/E what would I use and how much per gallon of water used. I am a IPA freak.

    High Gravity Brewing has a 44qt 120 volt biab rig it's a little pricey would this be a good rig to maybe think about getting any thought's. Gas is a pain in the ass.

    I would by a brew in a basket for a 10 gallon cooler a little pricey but will last a lifetime.This something I have been thinking about.

    Thanks I will be moving it to a keg, so not to worried about sediments if need be I could move it say day 14 to a keg let stay there for a week or two and dry hop then move it again to a serving keg.

    How do you determine to move it along in say 7 days and not wait till day 14. Gravity or the flip of a coin. I ask cause this is what i'm going to do on my next brew day.

    Would mashing with 2.52 gallons of water and sparging with 2 gallons be alright with 8.5 pounds of grain,or should I just go full volume.I have never sparged before.
