    50L keg actually 69L?

The only reason I'm wondering is because I'm making a pot that is 22"dia. by 22" high and I want to make sure it's actually 36 gallons

    50L keg actually 69L?

I did the math on the dimensions of a 50L keg and kept getting 69L. What did I do wrong? Or is it just head room?

    Insulation or no insulation?

Maybe you didn't notice much of a difference because you didn't have any cladding outside of the insulation.. I don't know

    Insulation or no insulation?

I will be using the scraps that would normally be thrown out at work. It is roxul enter wrap 80 (http://www.roxul.com/products/industrial/roxul+enerwrap®+80). Then I'll be cladding over that with 14ga stainless.

would this make a good 475 gallon fermenter??

I don't know why they call it a pvrb but that's what it says on our blueprints

would this make a good 475 gallon fermenter??

That's what a PRVB is for............

    Insulation or no insulation?

Thanks! Ya I can do it without catching any of it on fire. I do it every day!

would this make a good 475 gallon fermenter??

Btw it doesn't have to be ASME to be pressurized below 15psi.. None of our fermenters are or need to be.. They just need to sanitary!

What's your occupation: Engineer or Non-Engineer

Not an engineer. A welder/fabricator of craft brewing systems!

would this make a good 475 gallon fermenter??

No. You never know what kind of scratches or any of the quality in the inside. There could be rust from plasma cutting sparks or burn through from welding without proper purging. Just buy a fermenter from the company I work for :P (specificmechanical.com)

    Insulation or no insulation?

So I've had this idea for a while of making a mash tun/ kettle all in one pot using BIAB or stainless basket. I make craft brewing systems as a career so this would just be smaller. I was wondering what people thought about insulating it. It's a 22" diameter by 22" tall flat bottom tank with a...

    BIAB basket instead of bag.

I'm not too worried about the cost because I know I can get the screen material for the bottom for about $8 and the side sheet material would be at the cost that the company I work for gets it for. I'm also not worried about it taking up space since I'm going to be making my own mash/kettle so I...

    BIAB basket instead of bag.

Nice! That looks similar to what I'm thinking except just use regular ss sheet for the sides and screen material for the bottom and just recirculating and sparking from the top using a spray ball
  18. H

    BIAB basket instead of bag.

I could easily make a thing to push down the grains
  19. H

    BIAB basket instead of bag.

So money is the only reason? Cause I could do it super cheap since my job is making brewing systems
  20. H

    BIAB basket instead of bag.

Why couldn't I make a basket made of the same screen material as a false bottom instead of using a bag for my mash?
