    Help identifying hops

I am on my third year growing hops. My first year was my most successful, as last year I waited too long before harvest, and they all rotted. This year was better, but I took to long to get to drying after I picked, and again, they rotted while in the bucket. Fortunately I didn't harvest all of...

What kind of bug/disease is this

Hi all, this is my first year growing hops, and they started off not so hot. However I found out that it was sunburn / sun scorch. Since then, they have been growing fine, however I was checking them out yesterday, and there seems to be an insect that is chewing through some of the leaves. I...

    Grass clippings as mulch

Hi, I searched a little bit and was not able to find an answer. Do you think it would be a good idea to keep my grass clippings as mulch to put around the plants. I read that it is good for keeping weeds down, and it is also a good source of nitrogen and potassium.

I love this idea! I really want to grow a "new" type of hops. jackcity hops could be in your favorite beer some day.

    Planting in Southeast Michigan

I'm planning on posting pictures of the plants in the ground, once I get em in. Now I just have to get home form work with enough daylight to make some progress.

    Planting in Southeast Michigan

I currently have only one, but now that the weather is a bit nicer, I should finish the other two by the weekend, and then in the ground they go! I actually modeled my boxes after your other post. How many vines(I forgot what they are actually called) is it safe to train around the same...

    Planting in Southeast Michigan

I have one nugget, one Zeus, and one cascade. I hope those are good, from what I've read they should grow. The cascade had already grown about an inch in the pot. I have a similar set up to the forum titled 2014 new hop garden. 4X4 box with ~7 ft high polls, that I will wrap twine around.

Awesome! This will give me a bit more time to finish my garden now too. The plants came in a bit earlier than I expected.

    Planting in Southeast Michigan

Like the title says, I am growing in southeast Michigan. I am a first time grower, and I got some plants in last Saturday. With the sudden snow in early April, I decided to pot them and keep them inside until the weather got a bit better. I was wondering if now would be a good time to plant, now...
