I had the same problem with an aggressive fermentation. It bubbled the starsan out on half an hour. I didn't have any vodka left so I refilled the airlock with starsan and added one drop of Fermcap. Worked perfectly.

From my understanding, most hop varieties need a certain amount of time below 40° to flourish. If they are in the ground now, I'd leave them there.

Very interesting build! I'm curious about the solar pump's performance in this application. Chugger pump are cool, but I really don't need 7gpm for a 5 gal batch or the extra $100 expenditure.

Picked up supplies for my next brew from LHBS. While there I applied for a job. 100 mile round trip, but 20% off supplies.

My first BIAB batch is in the fermenter now. A very simple recipe to start. With information gleaned from this site and a "dry run" with the new gear yesterday, I hit all the numbers. The brew day was longer than I expected, but I was enjoying myself thoroughly.

Thanks, I was assuming there was a good reason not to use simple sugars. I did keg the current batch today. Collected about a cup of the yeast cake. I cleaned and sterilized an empty plastic water bottle to put it in. It's in the fridge now. So, just warm it up and toss it in?
