It is very cool man....I cant wait to make my second PM tomorrow in mine. It went sweet last time. Only bad thing is it is going to be like 30 degrees out tomorrow. I'll have to be sure and get a good buzz on before brewing so I dont feel the cold!

Is the screen on a bazooka tube fine enough to filter out the cold break? I recently bought this and was thinking that should be sufficient for this also.

I think he was referring to pulling samples of his brew for hydro readings. And dumping his sample and losing that much beer. Wine theif's are great for pulling and dumping back into the fermenter.

Also, if you sanitize your hydro testing equipment well you coulld put it back into the fermenter after your reading.

Do you have anyone that you could have rack it to a secondary for you while you are gone? Ive always heard that about a month is the max for leaving a brew on the trub in primary. It would probably be fine though after 3 weeks....Others will probably have better opinions...I have a buddy who...

My first full boil, I had a fermentation like that, and my first PM the other day was similar. It is normal, and mezmerizing.

I was recommended to use .25 lb of black patent in a brew, much more will not be good for flavor.

Yeah, Im still working on learning different hops flavors and aromas.....Just reading the description of them on beersmith..... Im open to suggestions for different hops if you have ideas. ....dont know much about the sterling
