    Pbr

Sorry if I'm pulling the wrong strings or ruffling the wrong feathers, but can someone explain to me the the PBR obsession? I'll be honest, besides the fact that its not BMC, I find no other reason to buy it! I personally don't purchase BMC because of taste and PBR tastes just like all of the...

    TGI Fridays Brew menu

I'm glad to see Fridays embracing craft, but my wife and I avoid corporate restaurants like the plague! Not that I'm a hippie hating on "the man", but let's be honest, corporate restaurants have terrible food, terrible service and unimaginative menus. Not to mention that Fridays is advartising...

Can't Get Anise Flavor Out of Keg

It could also be in your tubing. I've done beers with anise and didn't have a problem, but if it sat on the rubber tubing for a while, it could be that. Every time I kick a keg, I immediately clean the keg and run about 1.5 gallons of boiling water through the keg/tap then sanitize. Works like a...

    Twist off caps boo!!!!

Eh, I don't know if I want to risk it with using twist offs. I feel like the chance of the cap not sealing properly is too great.

    Twist off caps boo!!!!

Yeah, I've started to see them from SN and Founders. I had a North Coast Scrimshaw that was a twist a while ago too. Maybe a miss order for them or maybe an experiment to switch. I sure hope not because this guy likes to save his bottles and twist offs are useless!

    Twist off caps boo!!!!

I would expect it from Coors and I know SN now uses twist offs, but I did not expect a regional brewery to be using them! I was also surprised to see that founders is using twist offs now too. There is something weird about twisting the cap off a back woods bastard! haha!

    Twist off caps boo!!!!

About a month ago I got one of my friends into home brewing. He had been curious for a while and we jumped in and he brewed his first extract batch! I told him I would help him save some bottles for his first batch and I already have about a case put away (I now keg). Today, I was at the...

    What is a cherry wheat?

I wouldn't say that it tastes like cough syrup. It tastes like cherry chapstick! Blackberry wit tastes like cough syrup (which has been poured through a filter of toe funk)!

Just downed a cellared bottle of Pumpking

Some pumpkin beers are great aged! Weyerbacher's pumpkin ages wonderfully! I still have a couple of 07's put away (when they still came in bombers). It tastes like you poured caramel over your piece of pumpkin pie. mmmm!

    Brewpubs, Ocean City MD

The beer scene in OC is horrific. However, the 30 minute drive to DFH is more than worth it. Food is great there and the chance to try one of their experimental batches is nice. I tried Palo Santo and Sah Tea before they hit the shelves!

    Bought my last Corona

As a big Jimmy Buffett fan, I used to drink that swill with the best of em'. A few years ago after getting into craft beer, I now realize that they taste like licking a skunks behind! I get this same taste from Heineken or any clear/green bottle beer! However, I will say the I don't get that...

Start to finish--how long is your typical brew day?

Usually around 4.5 to 5 hours. Of course this depends on how celebratory homebrews I ingest in the process! It tends to lengthen the process sometimes ha!
