    Beer Bottle Storage

Just go to your local grocery store and ask them to save you wine boxes. They fit perfect and have the inserts in them

    T'ej Ethiopian Honey beer

Much appreciated, unfortunately i waited to long to get everything started and brewed a belgian wit instead. Once i settle down the first week of september ill be able to start it up and get the gesho root locally.

    SodaStream for force carbonation?

Ive done it, and its a bad idea. I ended up putting a beer clone i made from Dogfish head in there and after one press of the button the carbonation shot it everywhere. You'll end up with a huge mess on your hands, but hey.......it works!

    T'ej Honey mead/beer

Much appreciated, 5 weeks is traditional to an average brew so it shouldn't be that bad. From what ive read the fuzz has scared a lot of people so im prepared for that.

    T'ej Honey mead/beer

When you say you would suggest a different yeast, for what reason?

    T'ej Honey mead/beer

I have a recipe that is based on an Ethiopian honey wine called T'ej. It was converted into a beer/mead but it does not say the fermentation length in the recipe. I was interested to see if anyone could figure it out, im moving in 2 months and if its more then that, its going to have to wait...

    T'ej Ethiopian Honey beer

Well if you want the exact recipe and steps I can send it to you. I was told by my LHBS it would take 8 months to ferment out due to the complex sugars in the 8lbs of honey (thats why im questioning if i could). It sounds amazing and gesho is hard to come by, but there is one site ive found that...

    Sanke to Corny?

Has anyone ever tried to convert a Sanke keg to a corny keg? I know they can be cut into brew kettles and fermentors, but have yet to see anyone covert it to a corny keg setup.

    Dogfish Dead Fort Clone help

I ended up brewing this and it came out pretty well. It was similar to the DFH fort, but not exactly. It ended up a little more then 17%, but after talking to my LHBS, the bottle conditioning didnt go as planned. I ended up not having enough priming sugar to carb it, so im going to have to...

    Dogfish head fort clone

From my trip to the brewery in Delaware and after reading up on it, they follow a similar schedule to the production of 120. I ended up using frozen raspberries (to prevent bacteria from forming) and ended up making a puree with them. I added a 1/3 of the raspberries at 60 minutes into the boil...

    Dogfish head fort clone

Turned out pretty good, not exactly like DFH fort though. Its right around the same alcohol % but after talking to my LHBS for suggestions on priming sugar to carb it, it was not enough. I am going to transfer what i do have into a 5l keg and force carbonate it rather then the system im using...

    Dogfish head fort clone

Beer was bottled almost a week and a half ago and had a final abv of 17%. After bottling was finished i saved a little bit to try. Tastes of strong alcohol and raspberries but was not carbonated so we shall see how it turns out. Going to wait a couple of days to crack open a bottle and going to...

    Summer Beer

Currently im only capable of doing extract brewing. Due to lack of space and money i dont have the ability to do a partial mash or grain recipe. Im just really looking for a good recipe for a wheat/belgian beer during the summer that has nice flavor notes. I've done a belgian wit and had...

    Summer Beer

Trying to think of a good beer to brew for summer. Im looking for something that you can knock a couple back, and just enjoy the taste without getting toasted. I was thinking a belgian or wheat beer but have yet to find a recipe that stands out. Anyone have any suggestions from personal experience?

    Dogfish head fort clone

    1) I ended up putting a belgian ale yeast in to start with and after 5 days pitched the vial of wlp099 super high gravity. Because i was using it on such a small scale i did not create a starter for it, so that might be on thing you want to account for. 2) I ended up using Beer smith to...

    Dogfish head fort clone

For the Raspberry additions, you want to add them into the primary. They start adding them into the primary in small portions to allow the yeast to slowly digest the sugars while not over powering the beer. I ended up buying frozen organic raspberries and made a puree out of them and put them...

    Dogfish head fort clone

Update, beer still has another 2 weeks in the secondary before i bottle condition but with the starting gravity being 1.171 and the finishing gravity around 1.062, im right around the target ABV that i needed. Bubbling in the airlock has pretty much stopped, with only 1 or 2 bubbles a day if...
