    Hefeweizen Recipe

I'd like to also chime in with regards to 3068....I barely had enough head room in my bucket. Lid almost blew off. Luckily I caught it in time and was able to replace the air lock. I'm also curious about the 15 min malt addition. If you are seeking a lighter color, I don't think that's...

Saison with Honey, original recipe seeking feedback

Starting to see some bubbling in the air lock, maybe one per minute.

Saison with Honey, original recipe seeking feedback

Brewed this mornin. Came out to 1.054, prior to honey which will go in at peak krausen. Heres hoping my yeast starter was good!

Saison with Honey, original recipe seeking feedback

So, if I reduce the amount of honey malt to say...0.5#, should I increase the DME? I could by as much as 13 oz.

Great. That all makes sense. I appreciate all the help.

Saison with Honey, original recipe seeking feedback

Im using BeerToolsPro. I have the honey in my recipe, but there's no option for adding in to primary. Currently in the software I have it as a late kettle addition. Would the final abv be the same regardless of when the addition happened in relation to the boil? I could see this info being...

Saison with Honey, original recipe seeking feedback

Ill take a starting gravity reading. How can I get an accurate reading after honey is added, and again when fermentation slows to a crawl to figure out the final ABV?

Saison with Honey, original recipe seeking feedback

Would the flavors from 2# of honey malt be too much? Like, cloyingly sweet?

Saison with Honey, original recipe seeking feedback

Thanks for the feedback! I changed the recipe up a little. Using 2# honey malt to steep. Changed the hops totally. Using 1 oz Saaz for bittering at 60 or 45, and 1 oz Citra for aroma at 5. For the honey I went with orange blossom. If all goes well with the yeast starter I just kicked off, this...

Finally had my Craig's List day!

Love CL. Scored an extra 20# propane tank yesterday for $15. Semi related, I also sold a pair of congas in just two hours on CL yesterday.

Saison with Honey, original recipe seeking feedback

I want to get one more saison brewed this summer. I've been wanting to make a saison in the 7.5%ABV area that's relatively light in color, with galaxy hops and honey. Here's what I've got so far: Original Gravity: 1.076 (1.048 - 1.065) Terminal Gravity: 1.019 (1.002 - 1.012) Color: 5.05 (5.0 -...

Trying my first original recipe, would like some feedback

I dry hopped this with 1 oz each of Citra, Galaxy and Sorachi Ace. Going to let it sit for about a week, then to the bottles.

Kit Saison brew, herb or citrus zest addition

Bottled this today, both versions. Tasted both, no off flavors. Seemed fairly representative of the style. The sage in the treated batch was pretty apparent in the finish, but not over whelming. Both orange and sage are lightly present in the aroma. Can't wait for it to carb up.
