Two sankey sixtels for a 2.5g or 3g ball lock

I have two 5 gallon tall sankey kegs that I would like to trade for one 2.5gallon or one 3 gallon ball lock keg.

    Whirlpooling

I too seem to have the same problem. End up putting all the cold break into the fermenter. It ends up settling out pretty quickly in the carboy. I'm just leary of waiting that long before racking into the fermenter.

My APA tastes like a Belgian Pale Ale

About 3 years ago, I was buying brewer's best extract kits from a lhbs. They all came with Nottingham as their "house" yeast. They used it for their american pale and their american ipa. It had a sour twang on the finish, not quite like a belgian, but definitely not the extract twang. I was...

    Techniques for RIMS mashing

I thought that a RIMS system would yield higher efficiencies, but my first two attempts with my new system have been low of the OG. 5 points on the first brew and around 3 or 4 on the second. Not bad, but I wondered if there are any techniques guys use on a RIMS system to get their efficiency...

Stratification of wort in the fermenter

I think the upper layer is yeast in suspension. Just gettin ready to do their thing.

    Green Flash

I just had the Palate Wrecker for the first time tonight on tap. Great beer! I think it might be my favorita DIPA now. The aroma and bitterness reminds me of Avery's Maharajha, but the body seems a little lighter, although the ABV is still up there. The West Coast IPA is good as well as the red.

How do the craft breweries heat their equipment?

Moen makes faucets, Groen makes steam kettles:o

    best northern brewer ipa?

I have done the dead ringer and sinistral warrior. The sinistral warrior is wonderful. Citrusy and drinks like a lower gravity beer. Add dry hops to the recipe for sure.

How easy is it to get a small sample from a conical with a butterfly valve?

What you need is a sampling valve. They make them to fit the 1/2" to 3/4" triclover ferrule. It has a knurled delrin knob that micro adjust out when turning counter clockwise. There are some guys selling them on the bay, but the prices are outrageous, I think they are high, after all it is...

    Well, I made beer!

After taking two years to build my all electric, all triclover, single tier, I put it to the test today. The biggest concerns were with coming up with the correct strike temp to hit the mash temp. Well, I could not be happier. I only missed the mash temp by one degee. I remembered from doing...

    Spa Panels

My Midwest spa panel had General Electric mentioned somewhere in the instructions.. I think it was actually made by G.E. with Midwest being a private label so to speak..

    Sanke Fermentation Vessel

I have an 8" short ferrule that I was going to have welded on a keg. I was going to have it welded around the outside. On the inside I am planning on leaving a small ledge that the interior could be welded to, then with a die grinder and sanding drums smooth the interior weld until there are...

55 gallon stainless drums - Ohio

Squeeky, I just p.m.'d you. I know the guy does not ship. He mainly deals in scrap metals. I posted this to give local guys a shot at a good deal... If I decide I'm up for it, I will let you know.

55 gallon stainless drums - Ohio

I was doing some searches on d'limolene as well. I don't think it is dillutable in water unless you add a surfactant - i.e. a soap. So I don't know if simply boiling would remove it by itself. The d'limolene is real thick, almost like a syrup.

    ISO: Keggle Conversions

I would also be willing to help you. I have a jig and angle grinder, as well as step bits. I work downtown and have a repair shop on site. P.M. me if interested, Oh and I also know of a great welding shop just outside of downtown, if you decide to go that route.

Our take on the weldless single tier (Picture and detail intensive)

That has got to be one of the better weldless stands that I have seen. You can't really tell it was bed frames. I like it better than the perforated metal stands.

Anyone fabricate your own brew kettles?

Metal spinning has been around a long time. Basically a round disc is mounted on a special lathe. It is spun, and forced onto a form. The form can be any shape from an ashtray to a large pot. This is how Toledo metal spinning makes their conicals, hence their name. Edit, watch the above...

Dip tubes with tri clover valves

Yea, the orrifice plate looks like a good idea, and that company is in my home state. Sometimes these companies only like to sell in large quantities or wholesale. That would be the only problem. My solution requires the dip tube to be positioned pretty much where you need it before welding...

Dip tubes with tri clover valves

Because tri clover valves hook onto tri clover ferrules, it is more difficult to mount a dip tube because there are no interior threads inside the keg or kettle. When using a 1/2" or 3/4" tri clover ferrule, you can use a 1/2" or 3/4" swagelock coupler to the dip tube, however, they do not come...

Hard wiring rather than all these plugs?

I guess it depends on what you have to pay for twist locks. A vendor on ebay was selling 30 amp L6 twist locks for around 4 bucks each. Shipping was also cheap. I also found a local surplus store in Ohio that was selling them dirt cheap. My local scrap yard had 30 amp twist locks on SOOW...
