Great Lakes Hops hop crowns 'lucky dog'

First, the folks at Great Lakes are fantastic to deal with! What a stand up company. I placed a large (for me) order last year of 25 crowns and they threw in a few extra. I did a late planting last year, 2nd week of September, and had an excellent yield this year. I put everything under...

Should I grow hops if I have a dog?

We have 3 dogs and one is completely food obsessed. None seem to care about the hops on the vine and we are careful with cones during harvest just in case. This same dog does however pick her own blackberries off the bush! FEF

    "Custom" dryer at work

GVH Dan I appreciate the input. I am trying to monitor it, every 4 hours or so I rotate the drawers and shift the hops around. I have 4 holes on the top of the dresser for ventillation and I can feel a steady stream of air out of all of them. I will keep a close eye on it. Thanks again. Paul

    "Custom" dryer at work

Got a good amount of picking done today with only a few interruptions. I did a test run drying out some smaller batches the last couple of days and now I have a little more going. Primarily Cascade (4 drawers) and 1 drawer of Zeus.

    Please help

I had a similar issue several weeks ago. I cut back drastically on my watering and everything greened right up again. I am running drip irrigation and was running every day for 45 minutes or so in the morning. I changed to every 2 to three days and the problems cleared up. Hope this helps.

    New member introduction

Hi everyone. First time hop grower here in Southeastern, Mass. I grew cranberries on my property for 7 years and finally gave up. The soil conditions were poor for cranberries and a neighbor suggested hops. Last year I partnered with a local brewer and did a late planting of hops. I have 7...
