2010 Bigfoot is on the loose!

I bought my 2010 a few months ago, and went back for more but all gone. The funny thing , I was just up in Northern Michigan and asked where could I get a 6 pack of Michigan Microbrew. One guy tells me Bob's Party store. So I went there and on the shelf was one dusty six pack of 2009 Big Foot...

    2010 Hops Gardens

I live in Michigan and mine are about 7 feet now. Started coming up around April 10th. I did not plant them last year till June so don't sweat it. They turned out great last year and reached about 12 feet to the top. Just a hint, I use miracle grow and it works magic. Brewer44 :mug:

    New Electric HLT

I got a couple of 15 gal Blue Poly food grade containers from an auction for $15.00. Inside is a 1500 watt element connected to a Ranco Thermo controller with the temp probe down the middle of the lid in the thermowell. The insulation is from Home Depot for duct work. Scott

2010 Bigfoot is on the loose!

WOW, just picked up a sixer after reading this thread. I guess I was lucky, they had 4 six packs on the rack. Paid $10.25 for the six and just cracked one open. I have never had a SN Bigfoot till now. Now that's a Hoppy brew. I can still taste the hops. I think it poured green. Brewer44...

    Chris Knight's brew rig

Chris, Nice job on your rig. I agree with drunkatuw, you should go from BK to pump then out to chiller. That's what I do and have no priming problems, then from chiller to fermenter.

    Hand mixer for aerating wort??

Susitna4, I used a metal plaster stir stick that I bought at Home Depot and connected it to my cordless drill. Did that for about a minute and was good to go. You can use about anything that will swirl the wort as long as it's sanitized. I now just let my wort flow from my counter flow...

American Porter Bee Cave Brewery Robust Porter

Ok, I finally brewed this tonight. I think I added double the Roasted Barley at 2 oz. I hope it's OK. Might be a Robust Stouter, I don't know. My OG was 1.063. Thanks Ed.

    Gelatin Usage?

RB, I have too researched this topic. I can tell you what I did from some very smart brewers. I fremented for approx 7 days then racked to a secondary for another 7, then I stuck it in my fridge at about 30 deg for 2 to 3 days (cold crash). I then added my knox gelatin and left it in for...
