    DIY Tap Handle?

Real 30mm shell plus a hand turned replica projectile from some guy on eBay. I just drilled out the spent primer and used the angled bonnet adapter from Midwest to attach it. Now my wife says I need more tap handles to match. Dam....

    120v Electric 5 gal Brewery

Sorry no updates on the wiring. Probably gonna be awhile as I'm gonna be out of town for about 3-4 months. I will be upgrading to a more sturdy enclosure, with a safer screwed down lid. Also gonna add the ability to control a 230v element as sort of an add on while still being portable.

    Money!!!

Cheaper than my jeep, motorcycle, or flying airplanes, which I have ceased spending money on since starting brewing.

    mini ball valves????

doesn't look like they are full port, which could be a problem, but they would look nice in some spots on your rig

Is this the right kind of GFCI?

So odds are if i just install a GFCI breaker and a regular outlet, I'm good to go, with maybe an occasional nuisance trip, for a brew system I'll be monitoring, or an RV with a Backup battery? (good point about the hair dryers, i have seen those before, but it never occurred to me that thats...

Is this the right kind of GFCI?

As far as I understand 2 GFCI's cancel each other out, and either trip each other or negate the protection provided the other, can someone else fill in here for me?

Is this the right kind of GFCI?

Called got redirected to their distributor. Basically it sounds more complicated than it needs to be for our type of application. Whats stopping me from buying a SPA panel from lowes and running a plug from that spa panel up to my 50amp outlet, then out from the spa panel to another plug that...

Is this the right kind of GFCI?

Like I said I plan to plug an RV into the same outlet, so the outlet it self can't be GFI, because the RV already has its own GFI's. I'm not sure why does this need to be connected to a contactor/relay? does it need something else to cut the circuit?

Is this the right kind of GFCI?

I've been stalling on getting my 50 amp outlet installed, because I need GFCI for my brewing, (Currently using a 2 circuit 120v setup) and I need a regular breaker for my RV ( it has its own GFCI's on each outlet circuit.) Would one of these allow me to make a 50 amp inline GFCI...

    Design Ideas

You could probably swing a 240v BK and a 120V HLT since you're using 2 10g coolers. I'm actually thinking about a similar setup with a 30amp 240v boil kettle with a PID, SSR + PWM, and then a basic 120v HLT with a PID and SSR. That way I could heat up my dough in and sparge water in the BK. Then...

Just got 2 - 30' coils of 5/8" copper, help me be efficient.

In indiana, I'd probably hold off on the pre-chiller, and maybe make a HEX for a HERMS. Then again a pre-chiller and a HERMS coil are about the same thing. Sounds like a good deal either way even if you want to send me the extra 30' coil to make my own CFC.

    kegging in Cincinnati

Wouldn't call them local to the nasty natti (San Marcos, TX = 1,158 mi), but they are great to deal with. Got all my hardware from them. Customized my order from one of their kits with no issues. A+ service.

Pick one of these up if you can.

About to drive 2 hours to purchase...

Print out that kit and see if they can get close to it. You don't need both better bottles, and it sound like you may already have some stuff. There's also a home brew shop in Athens think its called the Do it Yourself shop? Not sure what they have, the memories of my 4 years in Athens are...

    Quick disconnects

I like the plastic ones previously mentioned. No leakage issues, however I need to drill mine out as the crosshairs do catch some grain.

    Blichmann Shortage

Does this shortage also effect the beergun?

    How would you clean this?

+1 for a good soak in oxyclean. I'd either throw out the malt, or just make a basic beer with it and learn what old extract taste like.
  18. wh4tig0t

What setup would you get? Help a brewer get an automated system.

The top tier and blichman kettles, plus a bremation panel, would actually be my ideal. A more beer stand would be more asteticaly pleasing, but less flexible. This way you could do different sparge setups, and move things around to your liking, and also probably get it a little faster. I'm not...

Recipe for an inexpensive blonde, beer?

all grain or extract the recipe should taste basically the same, temperature control is important in either case. There are some cheap and easy ways to temperature control a carboy of beer you can learn about on here that can help you make this beer cleaner and more consistent. I imagine living...

Recipe for an inexpensive blonde, beer?

+1 this was my first non kit beer and first all grain after 2 extracts and 2 mini mash's. It was a big hit with everyone who tried it. Brewed it again for everyone in my wedding party and won a bronze with the same batch at the state fair.
